Just wait for winter :p but at least you can control it... (the trip switch for upstairs sockets should cut down on child-related electricity use). Hopefully your new windows will cut the heating costs :D

I was on the same tariff last winter.. been on it since KH left just about.. my leccy is pretty static.. but my CH is gas so that gets extortionate.

Well at least you are on gas as it's the cheapest way to heat the place! The windows should make a significant difference, and you've been hanging around here long enough to know the rest. I keep mine on 16 degrees during the day and wear more layers if I'm cold. When it's really cold I leave the heating on overnight and set the thermostat to 10 degrees... Last year it kicked in quite a bit over Christmas

Mine was broken over christmas lol.. dont you remember I had the boiler develop a leak and then one of the capped off radiator pipes sprung a leak a couple of days later.. NOT impressed!!

My gas bills pe month go from the £90-£110 they are NOW to about £200 a month.. but if the baby is wam then it doesnt matter.. she was freezing last year and wearing about 8 layers some days.. hopefully the gutter being functional and not allowing freezing water through the bricks will help!

I just received my new calendar/diary order from 'organised mum'.

MrsChaos, can I ask a little question about the 'organised mum' calendars? Which type do you find best - the monthly view with big boxes to write everyone's stuff in or the weekly view with a column for each person? Do you have one of their diaries as well? I don't seem to be able to think for myself tonight :o I'm tired for no real reason.

I'm sure I've done quite a bit today but can't really remember exactly what. One great big huge froggie in the shape of a large heavy old TV has been flung (dragged and dropped by DS) at the local dump :j:j I did try freecycling it but no-one wanted it. And DS has mended the printer by some sort of teenage magic :T so he was rewarded with lunch at McDs (his choice of reward).

The first meat box and fish box were delivered today, from the same local supplier of my fruit & veg which I started last week. I'm very impressed with the quality and it's very good value. I'm so glad they put labels on the fish cos I wouldn't have had a clue otherwise. I cut up a huss earlier this evening - way to go, Friday night fun :rotfl:

Oh and I decluttered £65 in TKMx  but sensible necessary purchases of four smart shirts/blouses for the job I am desperately trying to find. DS, fortified by big mac etc, was scouring the racks for me like a short stocky straight Gok Wan, much to the amusement of the other female shoppers who were without their personal shoppers today :rotfl:

LW: do you have a pic of Ted? I have an image in my head of a puff-ball of a dog after his bath.

No list tonight just waffle. Will do better next week.

Hugs, good vibes & happy thoughts to all.

At least it gives me time to set both up before I'm back at work.

with all due respect, Mrs. C. with a name like that would you expect anything less;)?

having had two c-o-c-k ups on e bay which resulted in a couple of mis-lists I didn't spot till too late (because I changes the prices I think) I have sent grovelling messages and given glowing feedback and posted out lots already. Then took DS to the hairdresser, noticed the vets wasn't rammed full (usually is) came home, thrust kitten into carrier and zoomed (under the speed limit mind) ;) back to have Jinx jabbed...then said - you're quiet today' and got GLARED at because they wanted and early finish and said I was jinxing them which I found funny...small things and all that!
Then decided we'd go to Ikea 'because it's quiet on a Friday night - erm not tonight -free nibbles, drinks, balloons- they were having a bed event - and DS decided to beg for a double bed. I said no...he is tall though and the singles probably too short. But I am (as per) boracic so might be a carrot to dangle over him that...until I teach him the ways of tidiness and orderliness muhahahahaha

Bought another new cushion for DD, napkins, a dvd rack, one of thos carrier bag holders and a MIRROR for the BATHROOM

I gotta go to TK Maxx - no end of my (mismatched anyway) bedding is looking aged...especially pillowcases which will have to be flung, as they are ripping. My own fault for ironing 'em :rotfl:I shall just buy more white stuff;)

Hello, just popping in to show my face, not be long before I'll be a reluctant frequent flyer trying to get my house sorted before term restarts. I've spent today scrubbing the caravan bed DS2 piddled through, sorting protective sheets, shopping, packing (back away from tomorrow) and digging up spuds mainly. Did some yummy fajitas for tea.

I've been reading the posts about gas and electric, I've been quite shocked how much electric is used while we are out/away which is averaging about 13-15 units per day. Anyway tomorrow I'm making sure everything's off so I can do meter reads before we go then when I get home, see how many electrical things I can find to switch off

Right, dog out then bed time, hugs for you all and if I don't see you before I'll see you on Friday xx
One day I might be more organised...........

Lil_me - I don't use that much electricity when I'm home, unless the WM, DW and TD are constantly on...

MrsChaos, can I ask a little question about the 'organised mum' calendars? Which type do you find best - the monthly view with big boxes to write everyone's stuff in or the weekly view with a column for each person? Do you have one of their diaries as well?

I came across their products on this thread a couple of years back, when Natty posted about receiving her order. I've tried the smaller diary, but prefer the larger one. This year I'm trying the monthly view calendar, because I wasn't making enough use of the weekly view one. OH and DS1 never used their columns unless I wrote things in and in the end I mainly relied on my diary. I think it's going to be easier to look ahead with this one.

The description of your shopping trip (and printer repair) made me chuckle. Well done to your DS.

Valli - DS1 swapped rooms with us a couple of years ago and couldn't take his high sleeper into the loft. I figured that he'd need a double bed within a few years anyway, so I bought it then. I agree with incentives, though. Pocket money this week will depend on him tidying the tiny landing at the bottom of his stairs (so he has somewhere to keep his shoes etc).

I've tidied lots more stuff and had enough now. If I crack on with the LR tomorrow I'll finish the tidying and get on to the cleaning.

ETA Hope you can re-charge your batteries soon, dancemum.
