Off to that place called London to pick up a passport / visa with my house guest today, so in theory it should only take about 3 hours, instead of the 8 it took on Tuesday to drop it all off.

Morning ladies. Day off work for good behaviour :A
I am not dressed yet, but I do have washing on the line.
I am hoping to collect my 'new to me' car next weekend, so am looking at car insurance. A massive frog.
I then need to try and get an appointment with the podiatrist and dash into town. Flying may commence mid morning all being well
Back later.....Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift

Valli - I've walked those miles in your shoes and it's horrible. Have a hug. I really hope he can turn things around.
JoJo - Oh dear - exactly what you don't need. I hope the situation calms down.
Most of the lipstick has come off DD2's duvet cover. I've washed it in coldish water and have left it on the line in the rain to get soaked now the sun is hopefully bleaching it out.
Free listing on ebay this weekend so I must get my act together.
DSD's birthday today. DH asked me if I had posted her card. Errrrr no, she is your DD not mine. Another classic example of being taken for granted.0 -
Valli - there are several kids at Uni now who did 3 years in the 6th form at the school mine go to - and despite the hiccup in Yr 12 all are doing well!
I spoke to DD2 at length yesterday ( she is on holiday in Weymouth with a mates family) - she was very upset to be 2 grades down in Photography ( new subject - teachers haven't got a clue!) and she finally got it into perspective when she found out that one of her mates had seen several kids sobbing - repeat years were not being offered to them!
Hopefully he can buld on this! And hopefully 6th form will keep a better eye on him this next year.
And it is good that he still wants to aim for Uni!
And i think you'll be entitled to child benefit for some/all of his final year...
DS - currently working at McDonalds till a job in joinery appears ( they are as common as rocking horse poop at the moment!) went out for a mate's birthday and rolled in at 4.30am. I have been awake since 4 when I rang him up and told him to get his backside home!
Off to put some washing on..... lovely day here!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
morning
wm on, dd2 staying at home today as she cried when i told her she was going to nurseryshe wants to stay with dd1, i think she missed her, no way she's going away for so long next year
so probably not going to get too much work done but never mind!
off to declutter breakfast before finding my list
hugs to all who need them

Morning, slight spanner in the works, DD is off sick! 2 days at school and she is ill, little monkey.
She is eating though so not too bad yet, will keep a very close eye on her. Not sure how much i'll get done with her off.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Morning all
bed stripped, stuff in wm
thanks for all your encouraging words - I seem to have 'lost' yesterday somehow.
I have apples (cooking) might see if I can 'teach' DD how to make crumble or Eve's Pudding- in other words she can do it!
have lots ending on e bay today - almost everything has bids, the rest has watchers. Only one lot is actually mine.
I updated my ebay spreadsheet for the stuff I've been selling for BiL; totalling selling price + P&P and subtracting listing fees (most free listing) FVF and paypal fees. Nett total just over £150 so that's made me £75
plan for today
update bank A/c
make my bed
strip the kids beds
put the ironing away
iron yesterdays/todays
clean bathroom
do some WORK work
ring about guitar lessons -my baby sister has offered to pay for DD to go out of school - the lessons in school were causing problems so I am going to take her up on the offer - I think it's a lovely thing to offer.
Oh - free listing - I have tonnes of Morrisons cards..shall I list 'em?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Hi Maxonian - hopefully this county will see a bit of sunshine today!
Progress so far:
I did loads of shredding last night, as planned. Then had a peri-menopausal moment and emptied the shredder basket directly into the recycling bin! That's a big no-no, the shreddings have to go into a plastic bag that's sealed.
The NSPCC happened to put a charity bag though the letterbox on Wednesday this week, so I've donated some clothes, books and - I must be crazy - shoes! They are collecting today.
Kitchen is looking half decent.
I've got to go out soon, then have work to do, so I'll be back online later this afternoon. Tonight I plan to do more shredding (such an exciting way to spend a Friday night :rotfl:).
I've got no plans for the weekend so I'll probably continue with The Great Declutter.
Having loads of trouble with spiders this year - shudder - seem to see at least one every day. I've heard that lemon oil deters them but not sure where you're supposed to put it. If anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it!
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Dawning - given that spiders just seem to materialise I'd recommend using lemon oil to wipe down everything
it's not one I'd heard of (I have chestnut spray that I use on the window frames) but I'll give anything a go. I already use grapefruit and orange oil for cleaning, and have some lemon so will use that too!

Lots of positive vibes to all who need them. Hope they reached you all last night as I did send them honest, just not post that I had done so.
LW hope your large drinkie and play with Ted went down well
valli hope DS and you are calmer today. I do feel for you.
My DS results mainly good: AAAB...Dhe is giving up the B subject and now knows he has to work REALLY hard to bring the D subject up. I didn't realise that some kids that didn't do as well as expected are not being allowed to re-sit or re-do yr 12. There are about 30 in his sixth form who now have to decide what else to do  I assumed they would all have another chance, I was really shocked when he told me. It seems very harsh
Anyway I must get myself in gear. I'll be back later with a huge list of my successes :rotfl:*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0
