Haven't had any emails from MSE in a day or two, so had to boot up the PC & see if something was wrong. Maybe MSE have put me on the naughty list? ;)
Wanted to check in & say hello quickly. I actually managed to do a tiny bit of stitching in the last week. I went to my stitch meet for the first time in goodness knows how long and was welcomed back, which was lovely. Then I took my stitching to the gym with me yesterday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I'm usually there for most of the afternoon. I have a water aerobics class at lunchtime, then I stay in the pool for a swim, get out and have a shower & get dressed. Then whilst my hair is drying off a bit, I have a bit of lunch (usually take up a little portion of museli & yogurt) and read. But the lighting is really good there, so thought I'd take the Dragon stitching that I'm doing for DH. It's blackwork, so fairly straightforward to follow. A couple of people came over to see what I was up to. :) Then I had my gym session and came home for a night with Ant & Dec.

I'm trying really hard to get into the festive spirit a bit more this year. I'm not going home to see my family for Christmas day, but decided to do New Year instead. Things are still very up & down here. Lots of stressful, unhappy things going on with my family & friends, but that's just life I guess.
Big hugs to everyone who needs them.

Hope all is well Nykied x

No stitching here for a few days, though i've also finished that mouse loft super cute reindeer.

So, today: broken windscreen & dented bumper / last week: broken tooth and broken boiler. Wonders what next week will bring, and considers hiding under the duvet :0(

Will be thinking of you Nykied and 23rd Spiral.

Have been knitting on my strike day and managed to knit about 12 inches of a pink scarf for dd but have also managed to knit 4 holes in it (grrrr) so got to sit and watch you tube video of how to solve them - although dd kindly said they add character - it is going to be a scarf full of character at this rate:rotfl:

  • I know I have not been poting on this thread in a while but I have been reading. Two quick questions...
    1) Do charrity shop's accept old cross stitch magazine where some charts have been removed?
    2) Are you breaking copyright law if you scan and store charts from magazine digitally? For you own use?

    Many thanks :)

    PAP, hello again!

My thoughts... 1) some will, some won't. Eg my local hospice one does, but oxfam would just bin them. 2) not sure. Probably technically yes, but then u have the right to make a copy for personal use, so maybe no... And who'd know anyway? I've scanned and put ones I've been working on on flickr for reference, but only old mag ones you can't buy now anyway - to me that feels like it makes a difference!

  • I know a lot of people have been to craft fairs. I was just wondering which is the best. I have found the creative craft shows and international craft and hobby fairs. I was just wondering if any of you have been to either of them or both and which was the best to go to. I am wanting to go next year but unsure which one to go to.

I havent been on for days had a catch up and all those lovely pics, they are great.

I would see what charity shops have dedicated craft sections and perhaps see if they would like them? I agree with the other poster who says that some might not accept mags ?? Perhaps they see them as a fire risk ?? I know most don't accept video tapes now.

Ummm tricky the other question. I don't see this is any different though to my friend who scans and saves recipes from food mags she buys.

Has anyone received the new issue of WOCS ? (issue 185). I like the Durene Jones designs starting on page 64 but I really wish Durene Jones was smiling. She looks so :(
  • Thanks 23rd anf FlatEric... Well the ones I want I have scaned and everything else put out for recycling :o I now have more space for threads/adia :D
