Thank you for your replies KMMR.

I am quite a competent stitcher ie don't mind fractionals although I have never stitched on linen and I HATE french knots!! I have done several large designs so I dont mind if it's a bigger image.

My dad was a joiner by trade and loved his DIY and gardening. He was never a fisherman or footballer (not for many years at least) so maybe something more wordy would also be appropriate.

Thanks in advance for your help

  • Did I dream this, or did I read on here the other day that someone was looking for Toy Story charts?
Knowing me I probably read that someone was doing one rather than looking for one.
Anyway just to say that I have a booklet that I was going to list this weekend - and loads of others, on the you know where auction site. Am I allowed to say that??

    ohh good find MM.

DD - yea - drop a linky to your account on there if you want (I do). Don't think the mods pop in here too much as we are a friendly bunch and there's not much b*tching goes on so no reports get sent to them.
it's fine to put that as it's a 3rd party exchanging addresses etc (not that it stops us here **cough cough**).
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

I think you think me that was asking for kids stuff. I'd welcome a chance to have a look!
  • I'll fish everything out later today so that I can make a proper list.
Just off the top of my head, I know I have Toy Story, Raggedy Ann, two different Cherished Teddies - not sure what else for children, but loads of others.
  • Hi All,

Had chemo again yesterday - not feeling too bad today, I can't manage to do the stocking at the moment, but I am stitching a small decoration for my Christmas tree. Will try and take a photo at some point. Happy Stitching!

Glad you're not feeling too bad Tracey, look forward to seeing your pic

AM - sounds like you have been busy! Have you got back you your beach pic yet?

Someone mentioned bookmarks? I like iron on interfacing for the back, I use two layers so it covers the stitching and makes the fabric firm as well.

    Hi Louise,
Can I ask your advice on marking out squares please? I'm fine with doing it on aida but am stitiching a lavender and lace santa on linen and have never stitched on linen before. Its got a nice even weave to the linen, not slubby at all, but I can't work out how to mark it with my patchwork pencil.
    How do you do it?
    Thanks

I use a water eraseable pen, for marking on linen you would be better off with a fine tipped one, sewandso should stock them, if not ebay is your friend :)
