I used to cross stitch in the mid 90's when i was a teenager and really want to get back into it. Im hoping to be able to do a new baby cross stitch for a friend that is due in April. I have all the threads and aida but am struggling to find a nice pattern (perhaps beatrix potter). Ones online are really expensive and im only looking for the actual pattern. Any ideas? (I live in a small town with no craft shops so ideally I want to find something online)
Thanks
I love Beatrix Potter and think the designs make beautiful birth samplers. Have you tried ebay? I've just done a quick search for Beatrix Potter cross stitch charts and there are a few at reasonable prices.0 -
Haven't been on for a couple of days - found out yesterday that my treatment won't be happening until Wednesday or Thursday next week as I need to have some blood tests before GRRR ! (Bit annoyed as I'd got myself all prepared mentally and had people wishing me well at work yesterday then got home to a phone call saying that it wouldn't happen - so will be back in work on Monday!) Vent over - it'll be fine - it's given me a couple of more days to stitch my Snowman Stocking. I went into town today and got some thick dark blue satin fabric to line it and back it. Now all I need to do is think of some things to put in it when its finished !Always be yourself, unless you can be a Unicorn - then always be a Unicorn !

Picked up my cross stitching this evening for the first time in several weeks. Feel my stress levels bubbling away and wondered whether lack of stitching time may be contributing to how i am feeling at the moment.
I'm stitching some more healthy eating magnets. As I'm trying to get my head back into Slimming World again, I thought it might inspire me if I was stitching a cake with a big red no entry sign through it :rotfl:
If you have back issues of world of cross stitching, i would be grateful if you could check something for me. The healthy eating magnets are in issue 140.
Now if I remember correctly, in either issue 139 or in issue 141, there was a follow up theme of some fitness themed magnets. I helpfully either had this mag or bought it on e-bay and removed the relevant pages. of course I have no idea now where they are and i can't be sure which mag they are in ??!!
What is everyone's plans for tomorrow?
I have to be up very early which I am not looking forward tobut hopefully it will mean more time for stitching or reading my book.

Thanks Shelly for the welcome.
Flower of Scotland, I have tried ebay but came up with lots of expensive ones, will have another look now. Went into a small sewing shop in my town yesterday and they suprisingly had a few beatrix potter kits hidden away in between all the buttons, material and wool. They were really expensive but was nice being able to see them before buying them online.
Mum and myself have had a clear out and managed to come across loads of stitching magazines we used to buy in the mid 90's. They have free mini kits on the fron so hopefully going to try and start on a some of them to get myself back into it before I start on my friends new baby kit (when I eventually buy it!)
Look forward to popping on here and getting useful advice from you friendly bunch of people!0 -

Hi Maria, no worries there is no rush
.
Sorry for being AWOL, I seem to have a lot on at the moment, and don't seem to be achieving much!
I am still plodding away with "Christmas on the beach". It seems to be taking forever! end of November deadline is fast approaching too!
Hugs to Bickerchick, Tracey and Ruth-honey and anyone who needs them. Sorry to hear you are all going through a rough time. Wishing you good luck for this week Tracey.
It looks like my next operation will be at the begining of December, a bit worried that I might miss DH and DS birthdays as I might be in hospital. I really don't want to miss DS birthday as he will only be 2, and won't understand that I am away to make me better. Fingers crossed it will be the monday after his birthday so we can have a nice tea party. (It doesn't help that his egg allergy means I can't have help from Mr T or A on the cake front lol).
Hope everyone has a lovely day with lots of stitching.
