glad to hear you had a nice getaway chicky. sorry to hear increased prices in museums. sadly its the way things will go. i work in a local authority musuem and they say we'd never charge... i believe it as i dont think we'd get many visitors if we did! (obviously i'm joking!)

Hellloooo everyone.
Went shopping this morning to Mr. S and just as we went through the doors they had bags of little twirls and choccy buttons on BOGOF - well, I just had to didn't I. Then as we approached the mags, OH said wheres that magazine then, (the one I keep picking up and saying eh no, I shouldn't and putting back), so I quickly grabbed it, carefully placed it at the front the trolley with the choccies and kept staring at them thinking 'ahhhh heaven - xstitch and choccy')
Just finished another santa card tonight. Could probably do with more xmas cards doing so I think I will just crack on with them.
Pleased you had a good time in York chicky (shame about the prices though). We are off there next month for a little break and really looking forward to it now. Will be looking for any restaurant deals/vouchers I can find before we go. Have done most of the touristy things over the years so we don't need to spend on those. Did you come across any stitchy places I should look out forHope you are feeling better with your cold.
Hope you enjoy Harrogate Observer and manage to find some bargains.
Good luck with your afghan fabric Emily - bet you can't wait to get started.
Bet the smell in your kitchen was amazing 23rd. Glad you're feeling better too.:T
Will have to go shopping in the morning for more aida and I'm out of white thread (again) - must be all the snow ive been stitching :rotfl:

sorrry beg I wasn't allowed to look at the shops :-(
the Prezzo is pretty central (opposite the dungeons) and I know at the moment there is a Buy 1 get 1 for £1 voucher (can prob download but I found it on their smartphone ap).
Was fuming - the travelodge was in front of a weatherspoons. Walked into town to see if there were any other pubby places (couldn't see any) - went back to weatherspoons..... looked on phone for a tesco (can't stand hotel milk pots) and realised we had just missed the run of pubs/ restaurants.... GRRRR. Have a good time.
Am off to die in bed now - hubby has decided as it's his birthday he's going to the pub.........23rd knows I am not amused!!!!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Evening Ladies,
Good News! DD's PE trousers have turned up :j in lost property today, so someone must have put them in there without looking at the name band. Just glad they turned up.
Not done much stitching today, just a few stitches, as have had my hands full with little man aka "augustsbrother" lol. He is feeling much better after being ill for a few days and has caused havock to make sure we know he is better, bless him.
Aww Chickywiggle have a (hug) hope you feel better soon!
Glad you're feeling better 23rd.
Right time to stitch with a brew me thinks

. OH has brough home 2 strangers from the pub!!
At 1.00 in the morning! I'd said no, but he ignored me. Yes we'd been chatting to them. But he knew I didn't want to go out, let alone have a late night, so I'm livid he ignored me.
The house isn't good... I've been ill for 3 days, him not lifting a finger, then jam making means the kitchen looks like a bombs hit it. So I'm livid and ashamed. And I don't want to look like a nag.
So Chicky, I'm joining u in Not Being Amused. U deserve better than he's treating you Hun xxx
I've just gone down to rescue my stitching a threads... 2 of them have lit pipes and there are clouds of smoke. I got a lot of Dr Who done today and I don't want it stinking
Sorry to rant everyone. I can't go to bed with strangers in the house, even though they seemed nice and were friendly. Sorry.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. It has been a strange day which I have mostly spent dozing on the sofa with my cat as seems to have become the norm most Saturdays now.
I had a headache from hell yesterday which would simply not shift and made me feel really rather rotten. Luckily it was quiet at work but in hindsight now, I wish I had called in sick and stayed in bed.
I think the remnants of the headache have been with me today as I haven't felt like doing any stitching nor much else hence cat/sofa/duvet day. :rotfl:
Will be going running first thing tomorrow then not much - out for lunch :j then chill out or stitch/doze (especially if I have a cheeky glass of red over lunch!!)0 -
Spiral & chicky - sorry to hear about your other halves I don't envy you.
Chicky - glad you enjoyed York. We are off up there tomorrow morning. Managed to book a Holiday Inn in York for the three of us for £50 including full breakfast which i thought was good. Not as good as a Travelodge but still pleased with it. Have printed off voucher for money off a ghost walk and a free cat trail around the city. My neice is up their at Uni so meeting up with her - looking forward to seeing her. Going to Whitby on Monday.
Have picked up my new glasses. managed to get Varifocals for £80 from ASDA. Still getting used to them so no stitching at the moment - doing knitting instead as not so taxing on my eyes.
Hearing everyone talk about shows do you know that you can use Tesco vouchers to pay for the Christmas Hobbycrafts show at the NEC. Need to order by the end of tomorrow. Think I will invest as if I use vouchers it feels as if its free.
Will catch up on Tuesday as might be late back Monday. have fun all.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j
