Yay just got tickets for Harrogate stitchy show in November and booked to do to 2 workshops - 1 to make a Christmas bauble and another to make a patchwork bag - so hoping can use the skills for more Crimbo pressies. Just got to save some pennies so can buy a few treats for me too:)

  • Hello,
Observer - I attended the stitchy show at Harrogate a few years ago. I haven't been back as I wasn't that impressed with it to be honest, the kits seemed over priced. I didn't complain to much though as I won the tickets :p. I think it might be better if you book one of the sessions. Hope it has improved and that you have a great time Dorastar.

No stitching for me as yet, spent a few hours at the hospital seeing my consultant, Op 2 will be before christmas, if an anaethetist will agree to do it. So it will be February for op 3, which is a shame. I thought it would be sorted by Christmas but at least we are making progress.

Picked DD up from school to find some kind person has had away with her trousers. Most annoyed as they are brand new, and I bought them all to match specially, now I will struggle to get her a pair to match. We could have done without the expence too!

Right might try and squeeze in some stitching now before tea
Hope youre all managing a stitchy day

sorry to hear about your DDs trousers, hopefully they will be in someone elses pe bag and they'll realise and return them to you, in the past ivenot realised mine had come home with the wrong clothes till ive stopped a rouge name tag when ironing -at least they go back clean and pressed

  • I hope so Mrs-moneypenny. I am the same, DD was picked up by her Aunt and came home in both her fleece and someone elses. My SIL questioned DD but she was adament she owned them both. I realised when I picked her up from SIL, and sheepishly returned it the next day.
Just hope they are as honest as we are :)

Have been a few times and go with a gang of friends so we have a good laugh whatever happens. Kits are sometimes pricey (compared to internet) but there are lots of stalls that sell bits and bobs and Michael Powell is usually there himself (we had a good old chat last year). I usually get something nice for me and something Christmassy so this time I'm making the bauble. Last year I got a kit for dd to do (which is still her UFO) We also tend to have a bit of a laugh at some of the poeple who take it all just a bit too seriously!:o

I'm home - you lot have been quiet.

HOW expensive have York museums become??? They are rediculous. Last time we went got the York card which was brill value but now it's the 'Yorkshire card' and £31 each for 1 day!!!!! It was £8.50 each for castle museum (which was very good) and £9.50 each for Jorvick Viking - (and the new Gldiator exhibition) - again it was good but JEEEZZZZ!!!! Thankfully don't have to pay for the little squirts yet. add onto that tea last night and brekkie this morning and you've not got a cheap night away. Thankfully the train museum was FREEEEEEE (but dinner there was a tad pricey and not all that nice)............ wonder how long that'll stay free for??
couldn't find any 2 for 1 vouchers or anything (but then i could only look on my mobile as didn't have full printable internet access while away)

anyways no stitching here am reallllly going to have to crack on to get troutbeck finished.

oh and I've got a streaming cold to top it all off!!!! (sorry I know thats only minor compared to what some of you are going thro)
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

    Hello everyone

I have managed to get quite a lot of stitching done this week :D I will post a piccy later.

Shelly - The tiger looks fab.

nmm - Cant wait to see it finished!

Chickywiggle - Glad you had a good time away.

Sorry if Ive missed anyone, love seeing all the pictures!

I have finally decided on a design for my next project, a baby afghan. It is a lovely winnie the pooh design. The chart is designed for 14 count aida but I want to stitch it onto Afghan fabric, so i have two questions that I hope someone may be able to answer.

Where can I buy afghan fabric that is not split into squares? I need a central stitching area.

I have found a 16 count afghan fabric with a central area for stitching. What would happen if I stitched my 14 count design on it?

Many thanks - Its quiet here at the mo so I think I'll get my stitching out!

  • Hi 14ct and 16ct refure to the amount of holes per inch so if you use 16ct it will come out a little smaller hope that helps

Where is everyone it has been very quiet here today ?
