I'm up and sat in my running gear. When it brightens up just a bit more, I am heading out and shall attempt to run just over 3 miles. Then its back for a quick soak in the bath before cementing myself to the sofa for the rest of the day. :j Didn't sleep very well last night so after my run, plan to do not very much. Haven't done any stitching in over a week :( so would be nice to relax with that and the tv. May even have a cat nap !!!

Friday night, I slept better but had strange dreams. Only bit i remember is that I had a tantrum and threw five (open) jigsaw puzzles across the room :rotfl: was so glad to wake up and realise that I hadn't in fact created the world's most difficult puzzle :T

Hope everyone has relaxing sundays planned and hugs all :grouphug:

Er... long time no see....sorry peeps but back here again and still not got much further with any stitching recently.

Work and life hectic and today I am mostly very tired, have had two nana naps already and am hoping kids have a nice early night and I can follow them! The family Dora have been taking it in turns to have a nasty tummy bug and I am still fighting it off as I haven't got time to be ill - roll on half term and a bit of R & R & stitching

  • sorry just a quick flit in to let you know I'm still here.... well technically ..... you know what I mean.

Had a mad day as it's toddlerwiggle's birthday tomorrow but as hubby couldn't get the day off work (but could get today) we moved it forward a day. So to all intense and purposes he was convinced today was his 3rd b'day. Presents, a takeaway for dinner, party tea and a cake with his friends (hubbys friend and his kids). Went to bed a happy boy. Will take him to a playcentre tomorrow so I don't feel toooooo guilty.

Not sure I'll check in much this week (or do any stitching) as it's hubbys b'day on Friday and we are going to York Wednesday/ Thursday as a treat for the 2 of them (train museum for toddlerwiggle mainly).
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Hi Dora, hope ur feeling better.

Hi chicky, happy real birthday to tiney wiggle!

No stitching on sat... Great uncle's 90th birthday. Was really nice, and mum and I played happy for the families sake. It meant me being on Kalms, but hey, it was good not to be stressed out.

I got a little more stitching done yesterday... Am now onto the other Tardis door. But OH was so caught up helping others my day was turned upside down. I shouldn't be annoyed as it's nice, but sometimes wish he'd put us/home jobs first.

Who enquired about Dr Who? I wouldn't want to nudge it around as it's an independently made one, that's not very costly. But I am a rather confused by the chart, ie is that backstitch?! Where's the backstitch?! Is it really only about 6 stitches, or is it round all the tardis?!?! I'd like it if some one else would care to look at it for me I'd be really appreciative.

Right, ladies - I need to pick your brains on a couple of things...

I've decided to make a few cards this year (for the festival thatshallnotbenameduntilafterNovember) and have stitched a couple of Mouseloft small designs and the MP freebie tree.

Question 1 - I have some nice card blanks in red and green. What's the best way to attach the cross stitch? Glue? Double sided tape?

Also - I have this gorgeous chart booklet. I must have had it for 20 years but I've never stitched any of the sweet little critters. I reckon they'd look good on a tablecloth.

Question 2 - Where can I get a white or ivory tablecloth with aida/evenweave panels? The ones I have seen have stripes woven into them or come as kits along with other designs.

I know someone in here will know :T

Willow Fabrics used to sell lots of tablecloths with stitching panels. I've just had a look at their new website and there isn't as much choice as I remember but there may be something that is suitable. Incidentally they still have lots of fabrics inlcuding linens (my fave fabric for xs) at half price. Needs to be as full price is £47 plus per metre now

I've used them loads of times in the past and have always found the service to be excellent.

You could also try eBay as I suspect that tablecloths may be one of those things that people buy with good intentions and then they languish in the cupboard......
  • Had a lovely day at Ally Pally on Saturday.
There weren't a huge amount of stands selling cross stitch but still managed to buy three kits.

and another one of a french cafe that I can't find atm (I'm at work!!)

Also bought two lots of yarn to make a couple of scarves.

Went to Covent Garden afterwards for a wander around and a lovely steak dinner.

It's my Birthday today so going to have an Indian tonight and maybe start one of my scarves.

Love the red dress kit. I have 2 similar designs (one black, one red) on canvas prints in my hall - they are just about the only things on my walls that aren't stitched. I think I have charts somewhere but they haven't made it to the active "to do" list yet.
