    Hi ladies.

Thanks for the comments re the Tiger. I am really enjoying stitching it and in no hurry to finish :D

Sweetcarer. I hope you can get your council tax problem sorted out. The CAB have always been really good when I needed their advice.

Nmm. Very nice progress. Can't wait to see it finished.

I feel like my morning has flown by with nothing done but I know in my head I got done what I wanted to.........does that make sense? :rotfl:
I got quotes for heating oil and ordered that for later in the week and shopped around for car insurance quotes. Though not sure if car ins prices are any good as we haven't had renewal prices yet so they are a 'wait and see' at the moment.

Didn't get any stitching done yesterday afternoon as I had a doc appt (everything ok) and by the time I got back I couldn't be bothered to get everything out :o
I hope to get some done later though.

  • Nmm, glad to see you are nearly at the finish :j

No update from me but just wanted to share a find. While waiting for Mum at work tonight I picked up cross stitch crazy, its not one I usually go for but thought I would have a look at the cover.... And fell in love with the Margaret Sherry card designs for free. I am not usually a MS fan but these are ubber cute :D Might get some done for xmas 2012 :rotfl:

Planning on a stitchy night tonight as I am on a late tomorrow which means I can stay up late :T

Hi all... Hope ur all well? I went out for lunch with an old school friend, very nice.. But now I'm on the sofa under a blanket in my pjs with a hot water bottle and a belly ache. His bad tooth story turned my stomach, but probably it was the cheap pub grub!! (2 4 5.50!)

Soulie... My chart was from Pixel People on Etsy.. They look like computer pixels and do all sorts of sic fi and geeky TV and film charts. I would really appreciate someone looking and letting me know if the backstitch is around the tardis (so dark blue I can't tell). The stitched egs on the site are very clear, and I've printed my chart out large, but I just cant see.

Friday night, I slept better but had strange dreams. Only bit i remember is that I had a tantrum and threw five (open) jigsaw puzzles across the room :rotfl: was so glad to wake up and realise that I hadn't in fact created the world's most difficult puzzle [/QUOTE]

That would be an interesting dream to analyze Eric :D

Shelly your tiger has the wow factor!

sweetcarer sending hugs. It doesn't seem fair at all. Hope you get some good advice on it.

nmm looking forward to seeing it in all its glory.

23rdspiral hope your tummy is better soon.

chickywiggle hope your little ones birthday was full of fun and giggles.

I'm plodding on with a little kit of flowers in a vase. Will post a pic when it's finished.

    Hugs x

I want to sew on a linen napkin - crossstitch - is this going to be difficult or should I just use waste canvas?

I have just looked at a few Tardis on there and I can't see any backstitch either on or around the Tardis.
Personally I'd get it finished then loosely do some backstitch around it. If you prefer it with backstitch to without then unpick and do properly but if it looks too fussy unpick and leave it without the backstitch.

Hi, If the linen is evenweave and you can see the holes (perhaps with the help of a magnifier) then this in my opinion is the way to go.
How do you check if the linen is evenweave? Mark off half an inch across and down and then count the number of holes. If it's the same both ways it's an evenweave; if it's differrent then your cross stitches won't be square and I would suggest stitching a few to see if you like the look.
I love stitching on linen - it's my favourite xs fabric but I know not everyone feels the same.

THANK YOU both for having a look for me. there's thread listed for backstitch... and i can see some making the sonic screwdriver... guess i'll check the other doctors. i'll do it without and see what i've time i've got. at anyrate, i'll stop worrying about it now. thanks!
i'm still only at 1 door done. and still have to stitch 1 doctor. and it's for next week. i had planned a wknd of just stitching as OH was suposed to be away, but now he's not going anywhere! it'll be nice to see him and not be doing stuff. maybe he'll go out to the pub?!
