Thank you for giving me a number.:j
Now I just need to get some xs done.
Full of good intentions for Sunday as had some unexpected free time due to visiters postponing til next week. Then I couldn't decide what to do - the backstitch on Lickle Ted I am stitching for Love Quilts (I really haven't enjoyed stitching this as I don't like stitching on aida, it was hard to distinguish between the many similar shades of thread and there is too much bs for my taste), or the Halloween table runner (not xs - stitchery and patchwork) which just needs the backing, some simple quilting and the binding, or the Shepherd's Bush stocking for niece or stitchery of 12 Days of Christmas. In the end I remembered that ebay had fee free weekend so spent the extra time listing some (non stitchy) items. Suppose this was the right MSE thing to do but the stitching was calling to me. Did manage to do some of the 12 Days of Xmas stitchery while the TV was on so not a completely wasted day
Need to work out how to post photos as I love seeing other people's work so think I should make the effort to share some of my progress (or lack of it).0 -

Impressive prices and good service - thanks for the link. I had a look at some of the kits but so far have managed to resist temptation.0 -
Hi Girls
Just thought I drop you in and let you know the latest.
Have spoke to council - they are insisting that I have to pay it - said they sent a bill out in 2006 about it.
I have asked for copies of paper work and my bank are going to supply bank statements for that time.
I don't fully understand it. At that time I was on incapacity benefit and was paying a private landlord. I sent all the stuff to the council they requested as welfare rights helped me as it was just after first hubby had died and I was confused at what I was entitled to after he died. The bit that confused me most of all back then was when I got told I wasn't a widow. I was only 33 and in this country if you have no kids you can't be considered a widow until you are 45. Widow in the meaning claiming widows benefit. I was married to first hubby nearly 11 years!
Still quite distraught about it all - not slept very well at all. When the paper work comes in I am going down to citizens advice people and see what they say.
Thank you all for your kind wishes - wish I could do some stitching but I don't have the heart for it now.
Kind wishes to all

Aww sweetcarer, that is awful. We have had issues with our council tax benefits and wish we hadn't bothered applying for it as we now pay more a month than we did when we were both earning . I hope the CAB can help you. Well my stitching is currently hiding in a draw as DH and FIL are doing some DIY and the amount of dust is:eek:. So no stitching or cardmaking till they finish the fireplace.
Hope you are all managing more stitching than I am! Hugs to Sweetcarer, AM x (sorry for lack of paragraphs on DHs laptop and the return key is faulty)

Awe sweetcarer, have my fingers crossed for you x
I've joined the Prep for Winter thread, after reading for a while. So many good tips, ESP as I've not had a winter I this house before... Hadn't even thought to lag the outside taps!
Had a good frugal day today. Batch cooked cottage pie filling, mince and macaroni and cassulet - all from same veg and pulse base. And stewed apples for crumble filling, and made apple juice, and now have apple and cinnamon jelly dripping away nicely. Now to sit and do some stitching, if I can relax and stay seated long enough!Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -

But I am a rather confused by the chart, ie is that backstitch?! Where's the backstitch?! Is it really only about 6 stitches, or is it round all the tardis?!?! I'd like it if some one else would care to look at it for me I'd be really appreciative.
Hi 23rd, I did ask where you got them from a few pages back. Wasn't after a nudge just the place where you got them lol13 Projects in 2013 Finished: 5 of 13
