Maria - love the Christmas Tree.
Sweetcarer - not sure about your individual circumstances re the tax demand but my Dad had a request for £800 earlier this year which dated from 2005. I got all of his paperwork out and had alook and called them up and told them that I believed they couldn't go back that far and that he had a letter from 2005 saying he had underpaid tax. Basically after about 45 minutes and a request to have a face to face meeting they wiped the bill. He later had a letter saying his tax was no zero and all is fine.
Might be worth giving them a call and saying that you thought they couldn't clain further than 6 years and see how it goes. Hope that helps slightly.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

I don't have any paper work as I had an awful house fire in 2007 and lost all my paper work - I am so worried about this, as hubby still no job and only my wage coming in - jeeez I didn't even claim he was unemployed with them this year as he doesn't get benefit and I couldn't face the hassle and they do this to me. At the time they are querrying from I was only incapacity benefit and just lost my husband. (my first husband died in June 2005 - didn't get remarried till 2007).
Thank y ou all for your kindness
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
wow... I have finally managed to catch up on all the posts on the two 2011 threads - I used to read the original cross stitch thread but have never posted.
I've loved seeing all your work and the progress you've made!
I don't have any pics at the moment but I'm currently working on a cut-down Dictionary of Love for my friend's wedding next year, and a Dictionary of Cakes for my mum. I love the Dictionary of.. kits - I did the tea one for my sister in 2009 and enjoyed stitching it so much. I'll try and dig out some photos.
anyway, hello everyone! :wave:0 -
