Happy Birthday bikerchick - hope you're having a lovely day.:bdaycake: Wow - love the red dress.
Your tshirts are so sweet augustsmummy and I'm sure your sis will fall in love with the snowman Tracey.
Might manage a few more stitches tonight as aerobics class has been cancelled :jSPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -
Been browsing the forum for a couple of months now, but only found this thread today.
I had to smile when I saw the cross stitch picture of the dalek as you will see from my sign in name. - The idea was that our debt needs to be exterminated!!
Anyway I'd love to join you all and hopefully motivate myself to actually do some more stitching.
Hi debtdalek, I wondered if u might like to know I posted a dalek chart, that is out of print, to my flickr account. Obviously for reference

There weren't a huge amount of stands selling cross stitch but still managed to buy three kits.
...
It's my Birthday today so going to have an Indian tonight and maybe start one of my scarves.
Am glad u had a nice time there... I'd love to go one year, also for the embroidery and patchwork and quilting too:j
I really LOVE that burlesque kit you bought, it's so unusual.
Hope u enjoyed your birthday takeaway:TTracey2609 wrote: »Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
Can I ask a daft question please? (feel free to laugh at me, I don't mind, I am used to it!)
Does anyone else have trouble with the fabric (in this case aida) coming loose in the hoop, and going sort of baggy?
I haven't had a problem before, but it is a recurring issue with this kit.
Am I being daft / doing something wrong? Any ideas welcome.
Thank you all for your kind words, wish I still had those charts, would love to do the santa's little helper for DS whilst he is still little. Oh well, that will teach me for tiding up my craft stuff!
right must crack on with this chart, if I am to finish the chair tonight!

Happy Birthday Bikerchick :j:beer::beer::j Hope you have had a lovely day and hope you are enjoying your curry
Umm someone posted above about not getting the tension you want when stitching with a hoop. I either read or was told that you should wrap ribbon round one? both ??????? hoops and thats supposed to help ?
I tend to get a clean pillow case and lay it on the floor. Then I get one hoop (the bigger one) and lay the material over it with the nut turned as tight as i can then I put the other (smaller) hoop inside - usually the hard carpet means that when I push down, the firmness of the carpet means the two hoops end up as one with the material appropriately snared and with an appropriate tension. Its a bit trial and error. I find evenweave harder to do.0 -
