If you search opal ribbon on norticneddle.com it tells you more about it. (sorry can't post links I'm on my phone) I would be tempted to use strands of white or cream and some blending filament to make it shiny. Hope that helps x

Morning all - got all the cleaning done, just on here putting off some paperwork that I need to get sorted *whistles*

I have been looking at more stitchy stuff The Thomas Kinkade Disney Dreams collection to be exact...I have the chart for fly to neverland (thanks to a cafe member ) but they have released more since I first saw them and it's hard to resist some of the others (I am liking Beauty and the Beast!).:rotfl:

You've just reminded me mrs.m - i've a little owl to do in blackwork (will that be my next project - no id better get some more xmassy stuff done so that im not rushing as usual :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm supposed to be sorting out lounge as mr, carpet cleaner is coming tomorrow but I thought I would check in with you all before starting. Got an aerobics class tonight so will probably not feel like doing it after that.

Ooooooohhhhh just noticed there is a lovely snell of bacon wafting in the the kitchen. Might just have to have bacon sarnie and another cuppa before starting. Well I might NEED it for energy

Oops I forgot about a blackwork kit I was given a couple of Christmas's ago. I guess I'll have to have a really good sort out and be ruthless.

Well, I've managed to run around the house with the hoover, done the upstairs bathroom and been grocery shopping - so not feeling quite so bad now.

Just realised, as it's nearly lunchtime, that I haven't actually had my breakfast yet, so best get to that next. :rotfl:

years ago i did a blackwork kit that was loads of hot air balloons each with different blackwork stitches decorating it, i thought it looked lovely (still do) but someone told me it was boring and i should have brightened it up by using different colours. surely thats the idea of blackwork that the stitches are what stand out. got it framed on our landing.

If you can do backstitching and counted cross stitch you can do blackwork
