They're really nice chicky! I really enjoy cutting things out, sad eh? So if they are homeless I could give them a home... But only if no one else wants them...

I had a bit of a meltdown today. Have felt so overwhelmed recently.it all got a bit mutch. I'd cancelled seeing old uni friends as I didn't feel up to it and am glad I did.

A friend reminded me last night to stitch till I feel a bit better. I havnt managed that, but I have gridded up for dr who, Inc choosing the Aida and figuring out how big it needs to be (am only doing a bit of the whole chart so add in my fuddled dyslexic brain and this felt like the krypton factor.

Hope everyone is doing well. Hugs all round I think tonight.

Evening all :j I have been out most of the day after a very early start :( and I haven't managed any cross stitch all weekend.

I managed about 20 odd stitches in the week on a (free) pooh kit wearing a santa hat that I'm stitching on green aida. Might be finished for this xmas or the next ....

I've caught up with all the posts from the last week but my brain has already gone up to bed :rotfl:so I will simply say HUGS ALL xxxx

I will say though how refreshing it is that this is such a lovely thread. :D I do browse the other forums and I am surprised / don't understand the posters who reply with unhelpful messages ? (for want of a better word?) I don't see/find this on the slimming world thread / the grocery challenge thread, nor this one but do find when viewing other threads that some posters will respond with what is I suppose a catty remark which is not helpful to the original poster whether the OP is in the right or the wrong ? What do other peeps think ?

In other news !! I would be interested to know whether Downton Abbey is a must watch or must avoid ? I have never really paid any attention but I have been recording series 2 on sunday afternoons and am thinking of treating myself to series 1 because i guess it would make sense to watch series 1 first.... It has very good reviews and the like but I wondered what others thought ? Is it something you can sit and stitch with (if you haven't seen it before) or is it something you really must pay attention to ?

I've had so much abuse on a thread I started asking for advice I had to ask a mod to delete the thread :(

I've made a start on the kit Dragon gave me but realised that some people may want the pattern so will have to wait until I can go back home and scan the pattern. I like to mark the squares off y'see.

I too have read some threads with horrible remarks on. I don't see the need - if you can't be nice or give sensible advice then don't post - there is no need to be horrible IMHO. I'm sure people only start threads with a genuine question - just because the answer seems obvious, or indeed the question seems idiotic, to the next reader, doesnt mean the OP realised this! I'm glad the few threads I consistently look at are so friendly and helpful, to be honest this is one reason I don't browse the other forums more - I know where I am with nice peeps :):)

Hope you've all had a nice weekend

:easter_ba (These aren't easter eggs, they are indulgent little chocs to share with the coffee that is brewing, please help yourselves :rotfl:)

EDIT: oh and I don't watch Downton - Takes too much concentration and I can't be bothered, but I do know other people who really like it. Perhaps you should try watching a random episode before buying the box set?

Yeah there are some sections on here where people are just downright rude! Especially the ones who don't even try and answer but just give the poster a ticking off about their spelling/grammar/punctuation.

As for Downton....I haven't seen any yet but after all the amazing reviews I treated myself to series one (£8.79 from Play.com) so will look forward to watching it. I quite like period dramas so I'm pretty sure I will like it. Oh and I stitch to EVERYTHING.......best thing about watchign it on DVD is you can always rewind if you need to :D

Have been working on a Dalek for my nephew for the last couple of days, very simple, came together really quickly. Have got a black frame with a white mount for it to go in, so will get that done soon.

Louise - love the dalek. If my son were a couple of years younger I'd ask for a nudge. He's almost 13 now and we have just changed his bedroom from a Dr who themed room to a teenage room so he wouldn't appreciate it. I'm sure your nephew will love it.

Flat Eric - I watch Downton, in fact watching it now. Doing cross stitch at the same time. I don't have series 1 on DVD or I would let you have a copy. What about trying the library before spending money on it.
