I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

Nice progress with the snowmen ocemeer :T

I second your comments on our lovely thread Flat Eric. :DRe Downton - it's not really my cuppa tea.

Your dalek looks really effective Louise - sure your nephew will love it :)

Still not feeling the love for my mouse/robin xmas card. Perhaps if I stopped thinking about what to start next and concentrate 100% on it, it would be finished by now. Oh well - see what tomorrow brings ...

  • Hi,

Can I join the group please? I'm currently working a Christmas Stocking for my sister - it's just over half way through, I'd like to try and get the whole stitches done by the end of October. I started it in April and I've been stitching it on and off during the summer - Does anyone else struggle with stitching when the weather is too hot? I must be one of the only people who are glad that it's a bit cooler now ! I've really enjoyed looking through the pictures - I'll have to try and upload a photo of my project.

Been browsing the forum for a couple of months now, but only found this thread today.
I had to smile when I saw the cross stitch picture of the dalek as you will see from my sign in name. - The idea was that our debt needs to be exterminated!!
Anyway I'd love to join you all and hopefully motivate myself to actually do some more stitching. :)

    Morning ladies.

As I was getting into bed last night I realised I hadn't turned my pc on all day, it's unheard of for me not to log in at least once a day :rotfl:

    Everyone's work is looking great.

    Welcome Tracey and debtdalek.
Tracey, you asked about stitching in hot weather. I cheat and have a remote controlled fan pointing at me :D I don't like the hot weather much and have a fan in every room!

Hello Tracey and Debtdalek. Love the idea of exterminating debts - I think I should change my name!!!

Supposed to be upstairs sewing some bags for Christmas presents but can't motivate myself. My son and Dad both think I am working from home today - if I'd told the truth I would have had a visitor and got nothing done. Feel really guiltly though so will probably turn works laptop on later and do a bit.

Will upload a photo of my tiger later. I have a problem with it as it's missing some thread - it's called Opal Ribbon and I don't know what to use in it's place. Any ideas greatfully received.

I'm struggling with motivation issues today too. I should be hoovering, washing the kitchen floor and cleaning the bathrooms, but it's much more fun reading this thread.
I've gone back about five/six pages so far to get an idea of what you have all been up to.
I absolutely love the Atlantis design - can I ask is it in a book, or is it a kit and if so what company is it from please? Apologies in advance if I'm not supposed to ask this.
OK I guess I have about 100+ kits lurking in the loft, not started and can't bear to part with. Thats proper full size ones, not counting magazine freebies etc. I particularly like samplers and have books on the history of them too.
I have two or three pieces on the go - actually that might be four or five!
Anyway my input into which way you stitch is that I go along a line or area ///// and then back the other way \\\\\. However, my Aunt stitches the opposite way but then she's left handed, so maybe that makes a difference.
I'm very fussy and like the back to look very neat and have been known to be sitting unpicking at 2am.
