  • Morning ladies just popping in for a quick hello before I have to start tackling household chores.

Hope you're feeling a bit more comfortable augustsmummy and that your stitching works as a good distraction for you. Had a quick look at the completed pic of Christmas on the Beach and think it would make a great pressie for our relatives down under - will have to add it to my 'to do' list but not for xmas 2011 thats for sure :D The colours in it are lovely and you are making good progress with yours - I'm sure your folks will love it.

Loved the idea of stitching your poem Maria (managed to read it) - what a great way of keeping the memory. What lovely friends you have btw - any spare ones can you send them my way please :D

What a worrying time you must have had Craftygranny. I have had a much milder bout of cellulitis and my heart goes out to you as I can well imagine the agony and discomfort you must have had. Glad to hear things are improving for you. Hopefully it won't be too long before you're bitten by the stitchy bug :rotfl::rotfl:

Wow Louise - 12 days looks amazing :T

Sounds as though you're having a bit of a rough time catchooky - hope things pick up for you soon.

Atm i've started the Margaret Sherry free kit (xmas card with a mouse and robin on) but I can't seem to really get into it. Don't know whether its the chart, half stitches or what but I AM going to complete it before starting anything else.

Enjoy the weekend everyone - whatever you are up to.

    :hello:

got my glasses so will probally do a bit of stitching tonight to try them out, they gave me a headache earlier when i put them on in he shop to fit them everything seemed huge, but they were ok when i was given small print to read, ive just got to take them off or look over them for normal stuff

Right, ladies - I need to pick your brains on a couple of things...

I've decided to make a few cards this year (for the festival thatshallnotbenameduntilafterNovember) and have stitched a couple of Mouseloft small designs and the MP freebie tree.

Question 1 - I have some nice card blanks in red and green. What's the best way to attach the cross stitch? Glue? Double sided tape?

Also - I have this gorgeous chart booklet. I must have had it for 20 years but I've never stitched any of the sweet little critters. I reckon they'd look good on a tablecloth.

Question 2 - Where can I get a white or ivory tablecloth with aida/evenweave panels? The ones I have seen have stripes woven into them or come as kits along with other designs.

I know someone in here will know :T

I would buy an ordinary tablecloth and use soluable canvas to stitch your critters on...

I usually use double sided tape Mags_cat as I always fear the glue might ooze through the holes in the aida

    Love those little critters btw.

Mags-Cats - I use double sided tape as well. Don't trust glue with the stitching that I've taken time over.

pm2326 - I've never used soluble canvas. Do you just stitch on it with it in place on whatever you are stitching and then wash it after? Assume this is how it works.
