I would buy an ordinary tablecloth and use soluable canvas to stitch your critters on...
I usually use double sided tape Mags_cat as I always fear the glue might ooze through the holes in the aida

    Love those little critters btw.

Mags-Cats - I use double sided tape as well. Don't trust glue with the stitching that I've taken time over.

pm2326 - I've never used soluble canvas. Do you just stitch on it with it in place on whatever you are stitching and then wash it after? Assume this is how it works.

    Thank you ladies :T

I've not used waste canvas either - but I looked at a few sites tonight and it doesn't look too hard to get to grips with.

I shall try to get a ;) of the harvest mice - for the purposes of working on (!) but I won't have access to a scanner next week, so it may be a while.

  • catch hugs to you hope you can save something.
mrs-moneypenny hopefully you have got to grips with your glasses
mags_ cat I always use double sided sticky tape aswell and I have used waste canvas before you just tack it to the fabric you are going to use, cross stitch as usual and then when you have finished dampen and pull out the strands using twezzers. I have never used soluble canvas though. Hope I have helped in someway

Thank you ladies i'm starting to feel much better and will hopefully pick up a needle again soon. I think i just kept quiet from shock , I've had it 3 times in 5 years and it's been worse each time. I'm black and blue from knee to ankle although the blisters have almost gone now.

Louise i love the 12 days of christmas it looks stunning.

I'm sorry to hear you have been so poorly. It was something I hadn't heard about until last year when, believe it or not I had a ladybird bite me and the Dr said it could develop into cellulitis. Since then my friends husband has been in hospital with it and I've heard of lots of other people suffering from it. You must have felt really rotten. I'm glad you are on the mend.

Going back down my Dad's now, only popped home to hang the washing out and the computer jumped out at me, turned itself on and made me look at this site - well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. :)

    Have a good Sunday all.

<<hugs Catchooky>> can't imagine how horrible that must be. Hope you save some bits (or the insurer pays out to replace material things).

Just made some 3D christmas cards which look ok but really aren't my cuppa tea (tooo fiddly) - I have enough to make 6 more cards tho if anyone can make use of them..........

    1 x MXD.5406.JPG
    2 x MXD5407_LRG.jpg

you have to cut it all out by hand (whereas the one i loved you just popped them out).
