welcome to all the newbies

really excited my best friend got me £40 worth of hobbycraft vouchers so will be going there later to spend them and hubby got me dinner and theatre tickets so im going to ring and book that as well

i have ordered loads from ebay with my bday money so have lots of projects now, brought a embrodery kit and a tapestry kit as well so looking forward to giving them a go

went to the worlds biggest coffee morning last friday and made this



been years since i have knitted but i really enjoyed it

my latch hook rug enjoyed doing this aswell



my sewing sampler complete with buttons and a frame although i havent framed it propally just put it in to see what it looks like



and finally my poem for my dad



the story behind this one is that my mum wrote the poem for me to give as a gift for my dad for fathers day when i was 12 and a 5 years ago i lost my dad, so since then the poem has been in my bedroom, but it has faded so much that you can hardly see it anymore and as it is the only copy i didnt want to lose it forever so i have stitched the poem leaving it simple because i want it to hang next to the one i did for my baby and that one is plain and i will put the original copy in the back of the frame, so i have it forever, dont think you can read the poem in this pic though so if you want to know what it says let me know and i will type it out

what a lovely poem, i managed to read it. i think it looks lovely and chosing a simple style doesnt detract from the wonderful message. a piece of work to treasure.

wow maria fab work. Love the knitting . That rug is fab i did one about 40 years ago and quite enjoyed it but never did another.

The sampler is brilliant and i love the poem too. what a beautiful message.



OOooohhhhh chicky you have just made my eldest son's day on facebook he loves krispy kreme doughnuts he always gets some when he's in the states .

Does anybody have any Thomas the tank charts they would be willing to share my cousin has just adopted a little boy who loves Thomas and so does my Tyler so I thought I could do some as Xmas gifts. Thanks to anyone who can help.

got a book of them will try and get a sorted while my mates 2 kids babysit mine after school.
