Does anyone else have trouble with the fabric (in this case aida) coming loose in the hoop, and going sort of baggy?
I haven't had a problem before, but it is a recurring issue with this kit.
Am I being daft / doing something wrong? Any ideas welcome.
Thank you all for your kind words, wish I still had those charts, would love to do the santa's little helper for DS whilst he is still little. Oh well, that will teach me for tiding up my craft stuff!
right must crack on with this chart, if I am to finish the chair tonight!

If i use a hoop i always tighten the screw with a screwdriver or pliers it just helps to keep it tighter.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Umm someone posted above about not getting the tension you want when stitching with a hoop. I either read or was told that you should wrap ribbon round one? both ??????? hoops and thats supposed to help ?
I tend to get a clean pillow case and lay it on the floor. Then I get one hoop (the bigger one) and lay the material over it with the nut turned as tight as i can then I put the other (smaller) hoop inside - usually the hard carpet means that when I push down, the firmness of the carpet means the two hoops end up as one with the material appropriately snared and with an appropriate tension. Its a bit trial and error. I find evenweave harder to do.

Forgot to say thanks to Chicky & Maria for the help with regards to the Opal Ribbon. I've been on nordicneedle and tried to order but the postage is $15. Think I will go with several strands of normal white DMC plus blending filiment.
As a reminder this is what the tiger looked like in August
Now heres the latest picture of the tiger.

I'm struggling with motivation issues today too. I should be hoovering, washing the kitchen floor and cleaning the bathrooms, but it's much more fun reading this thread.

I really enjoy stitching Christmas designs - in the past I've stitched stockings for my Son, Husband, Niece and Nephews and my Sister mentioned that she wanted a stocking a couple of years ago, but I've never had the time to do it. I'm making it as a surprise for her - I'd just worked out how to upload the photo this evening when she arrived, luckily I'd put the stitching away after taking a photo of it! I wish that I'd taken more pictures of my project to start with as it's lovely to see everyone's designs grow.Always be yourself, unless you can be a Unicorn - then always be a Unicorn !
