ebaybaby, those charts look amazing, well done to your daughter finishing hers already :j I generally do a row of stitches and then go back, the exception to this is if I am confetti stitching (ie one stitch in a huge area etc). I used to do full stitchs but I found I used far more thread and my backs looked awful. However its personal preferance, I didn't start line stitching until 2 years after starting xs'ing.
Willow, no I ment cross sticthing (xs), however christmas is good too. Its not long now is it! Very scray really  Another year has flown by and I am still getting older0 -

Oh... I feel a bit daft now. I thought you meant Xmas :rotfl:No more to do until I get a couple of kits from some lovely people on hereSavings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0 -
Don't feel daft Willow, glad your xmas gifts are going well too. Good luck with your new xs designs when they arrive
So this is my dragon so far, I am not counting the hours on this one as the count is so small but its not as big as I had imagined so shouldn't take long :T0 -
Some of the latest stitchings .......
That's a start on the xmas cards - thought I would do several different ones and then have a big make them up session.
Myrtle Cottage has now been framed but I seem to have 'lost' the pic - will have another go tomorrow. Its probably still on the phone just not uploaded to flickr.
Happy Birthday Maria - hope you have a lovely day :bdaycake:
You and your daughter a making really good progress ebaybaby.:T
What count are you using for your dragon Pap - my little snowman was quite small (using up a bit of leftover) and when I changed and did santa on 14 count it felt massive. Bought a chunk of 16 count cream today - thought I would go somewhere in the middle :rotfl:Are you having a break from Picadilly atm?
Well thats it for tonight.SPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -

I think he's lovely, really simple but so effective. If there is agoing I wouldn't say no. Also Mytle Cottage looks lovely. I do like MP designs the backstitching brings them to life.
Anyway off to clean the house now, friends round tonight and want it sparkling.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

23rd that's me. I haven't been on here for ages as I have been feeling really down and haven't been able to concentrate. I haven't done any cross stitch for ages - although I did manage to wind 100bobbins the other day....
Seeing your comments has made me realise that I need to get off my fat a**e and finish the tiger so that I can start something I want to do. Thank you for the kick - I needed it...
hi ailsb, sorry to hear you've been feeling down. i've been up and down myself like a yo-yo recently. can you get help to pay for glasses somehow? i'm sure MSE will have advice... either vouchers or cheaper from Asda or internet or something.
how about promising us some updates of the tiger to spur you on?Anyway here is a pic of my w.i.p:
And my 15 yr old DD also took it up and has finished her first project, Im so proud of her, it looks amazing!! Its the "Cowboy" from Cath Kidston's STITCH book.
How often do you all post pics? Once a week? Sorry for the questions!! x x
like others i do rows, areas or outlines in /// then go back and do the \\\ unless they are isolated or i'd want to travel away at the end of the row if you see what i mean.
~ post as often as you like / need to... i dont post pics as often as i should... but it is nice to mark progress sometimes they just make it to the flickr stream instead.mrs-moneypenny wrote: »23rd, you mentioned finishing work started by someone else, the orca i posted a phto of that i did for my dad was a prestarted carboot find that cost about £1 the fin and area of black had been started and colours sorted. took me a while to find where they were on the chart but once id done a bit it was fine
