I will stick my head above the parapet here and say I disagree.

If the tickets are non-transferable then I DO agree with you, as the tickets will go to waste.

However I see nothing wrong in entering competitions for tickets which can be sold on Ebay. For me, this is no different to selling other prizes on Ebay.
I have sold some tickets on Ebay in these circumstances. I have also given tickets to family.

People enter competitions for different reasons. Some only enter for prizes they personally want. Others do it purely to sell prizes for financial again. I am a combination of the two - some I keep and some I sell.

I don't think it is fair to criticise other people for how they dispose of their competition wins

    or it could be mine:confused:

1st one I don't even remember entering for tickets - think it may have been a question of them emailing everyone who had entered anything on that site - bearing in mind the email hit my inbox at 4.00 on the day, I read it at 6.00, and they wanted to know at 2.00  (lots of msers had that email !)

2nd one I would have loved to have gone - but I need a little more notice than a couple of hours to sort transport, baby sitters, etc.:( wouldn't have minded but I posted the darn thing

    3rd lot - I CAN USE:j :j :j

However I don't need to enter a competition to get a life - I've already got one:rotfl: :rotfl:
;)old enough to know better, young enough not to care;)

I sort of agree that people shouldn't enter comps for things that they can't go to, however, there is usually a reason why people can't go, like reading the dates wrong, someone being ill, having to work etc etc. I think it's great that most people though who win tickets to something they can't go to offer them to people on here.

I took DH to the James concert on monday night due to someone winning the tickets and then not being able to go. I entered this comp and really wanted to win it as DH loves James and it would make a great 40th birthday pressie for him, but i didn't win, as usual. Luckily, i moaned about not winning on the James thread 'I Won' and someone who had already been offered the ticket by an mse'r saw my thread and realised they couldn't go afterall and so pm'd the mse'r to pass them onto me. So generally, yes, there are times when people can't go, but it's really nice and shows what a good community it is here for the same people to pass them onto someone who can go.

    If that makes sense! :)

I'm not sure where to post this, so sorry if it's in the wrong place!

Do you have to enter the regular comps every month or are you automatically entered into them once you enter once?

Mods - Please can you delete this thread when it's been answered so as not to clutter up the comp board? Thanks :)

Some of the regular comps will state that once you have registered then you are automatically entered into all draws, others you will have to keep re-entering

Its a bit of pot luck really :)

I have won tickets I haven't used twice in the past. Both times I would have loved to go (wouldn't have entered otherwise!) but been given less than a days notice which is not always realistic. In fact the 2nd time, I received an email about 9am asking me to accept by 10am!

The winners announcements have been so close to the events themselves, the tickets have had to be donated to friends or refused! Don't tend to enter them nowdays as get upset when I can't go!

    :)
    Happy Easter!
