Shock, horror, amazement! He emailed before 6pm to say he had worked out how much we were in credit. He's going to email with the amended dd amount before lunchtime tomorrow!

Blow me down! Sounds as if things are definately in motion then! Fingers crossed the amended DD amount does come through!

When is your DD taken? Mine is at the end of the month. The reason for asking is I can't remember how long before the money comes out of the bank that the instruction is sent to the bank?
    Regards, Robin.

Fair enough. Should be through in time for next month then. I wait with bated breath to see if mine is reduced this month!

It's usually about 5 days for processing.
  • Had Letter from Budget 12th June to tell me they were increasing Direct Debit to £61.50 as I was in arrears by £50 up to 24th April. Checked Bank Account today and they have taken £161.50. Not impressed.

Oh dear that's not good! I would be calling budget to ask why that was the case. If it is an error then under the DD guarantee you can get a full and immediate refund from the bank.
    Regards, Robin.

You'll never believe it Brian didn't email this morning but ....Kevin did at 11:29!    :rotfl:

He said "Good Morning Mr xxxx

I’m sending this e-mail in behave of Brian. Below is a breakdown of your next direct debit:

The number of units used: xxxxx minus xxxxx equates to 440 units. The number of days between your billing period is 86 days so 440 units divided by 86 days equals to 5.12 units per day. 5.12 units per day multiply by 30.33 days multiply by 0.147 equals to £23 direct debit per month. Your next direct debit will be £23 on the 20th July 2012. Subsequent direct debit will on the 20th of every month for £23.

    Kind Regards

    Kevin Pang

    Account Assistant
    Budget EnergyEnergy House"

I am not at home so I cannot give exact figures but hubby & I worked out the number of units we used over approximately a six month period and divided it by the number of days in the six months before multiplying it by £0.147 and our monthly electric usage worked out about £45. Budget Energy are now going to be receiving less money for the electric they are providing us with unless this is what they do when a customer has a credit on their account. We were £64.16 in credit from last Friday's reading but obviously our DD which was taken from our bank account yesterday (Wednesday 20th) was not taken into account!
