Hubby phoned and was told by Josephine that the accounts department was engaged so to phone back in 10 minutes which he did. The second time hubby rang he got transferred to the accounts department and was told by the advisor called Brian that he would call him back as he could not find his bill even with his account number and bill reference number. Ten minutes later Brian telephoned back and said that he wanted the bill reading which my husband said he had emailed. Brian then said he would contact Power NI to verify that hubby did email a reading and that he would telephone hubby back on Friday to let hubby know "The next stage in the process". Hubby did state that when he signed up his monthly DD was supposed to be reviewed after 6 months but Brian said he had to go through each stage of the process and then he would see about amending the DD.

    HTH!

OMG. Why do I get the feeling that this is going to be a long and convoluted process?!?

What about getting the most recent bill? Do you know when you will be receiving that?
    Regards, Robin.

He said the bill was due this month but didn't know when we would receive it. It took 2 months to receive the last bill from it was calculated!

Jo did you get sorted with the new bill and changing the DD amount? I have put my bill in my bag and will call tomorrow first thing before the rest of the office come in.

Did you get round to telephoning and if so did you get your DD amended?

Sorry Jo, just managed to get time to reply to you.

Yes phoned up and spoke to Kevin - was quite helpful. First of all he explained that the billing is on a quarterly cycle as per the meter reading date. So for me, a bill is on the way as we speak (hmm..... I'll see about that!) and has me in credit by £20 odd.

So my meter will be read next in July (end of) as expected as per the 3 month readings with the bill for end of April - July being sent in August. That's what I was told. I think that we (you and I) may have been just at the extreme of waiting for the bills for the last period if that makes sense?

Also on the DD front, managed to get it reduced by a couple of pounds over the phone there and then with Kevin; you might want to see if you can speak to him to get it changed? I think he was in the accounts department although this was never said to me.
    Regards, Robin.

Thanks for responding and letting me know how you got on!

Our last bill was £26 odd in credit and because they overestimated it by 365 units we should be an additional £53.65 in credit! I wonder how much they will reduce ours by if anything?!?

I did hear Kevin typing on what I assumed to be a calculator in the background for a minute when he was looking at mine, so it wasn't a stab in the dark guess. If you have given them the updated meter reading then it would be a sizeable reduction - I was in credit by £20 from 6 months, equating to £3.33 per month over spend, so I was happy enough when he reduced it by £2.

Let me (and the others here!) know how you get on!
    Regards, Robin.

I will do, we might get a monthly reduction of £10 then!

Brian hadn't contacted hubby so hubby telephoned and Tanya asked him to call back in ten minutes as everyone in the account department was busy. Hubby telephoned back ten minutes later and Josephine answered and said she was transferring him to Kevin but it was Brian who answered the telephone. Brian said that he had spoke to NIE - there new name something about td was in it, anyway apparently they have said that the meter reading is too old and they need a new one. Hubby gave a new reading over the phone and Brian said he would contact them and it would be next Wednesday before he would know whether our monthly DD could be reduced or not. From the reading hubby has just given him we are £64.16 in credit and our next DD is due on the 20th, Wednesday!

Is everyone else having to wait so long for Budget Energy to give NIE a meter reading?
