  • I have a meter and have had no problems with them whatsoever, I use the online top up and have done since I changed over a year ago,I also like the freephone number they have as opposed to most other companies cashing in on customers needing to contact them
On the countdown mortgage will be paid off this year if I keep paying bit extra fingers crossed fully paid out by July :j

Hi, Thinking of changing to budget, i have a keypad and would want to keep that. Has anyone changed recently from power ni? Is it a hassle or simple?
Prices say about 14.9p per unit at the moment so much cheaper than power ni and i'm using £20 a week so need to make some savings.

I changed from PowerNi (NIE) to Budget ages ago and am saving a fortune.

I also have a keypad. Dead easy to switch, just call Budget and they will sort it out. You keep the same keypad, and can still buy credit on-line our at the shop. Why pay more than you have to?

To add,the top up cards now work in Pay Point AS WELL AS Pay Zone now,so it looks like they listened to our complaints. So Karma+ for BE.

Not sure if they do the power shift tariff, may be best to call them or someone on here might know.

It was dead simple to switch, they texted me on my mobile & arranged a time to call me at home, when they called,I was passed over to NIE who had me input a code into the meter, that was the switch done.
IIRC,you have to have about £5 credit in the meter to do the switch.

no thats not it, Im sure I read a list of top up prices where the more you topped up the slightly cheaper the electric was. (or maybe i dreamt it lol)

When I changed I rang to see which tariff I was on and was told the same as before, power shift.

    thanks anyway.
