I think I understand, so you are paying more because your case was assessed earlier?

yes, exactly. If we were assessed on the new system it would just be based on my OH's earnings. On the old system our entire household income is taken into account, my income, child benefit, tax credits, the lot before the assessment is made.

Which would be fair if the amout the PWC could contribute was assessed in the same way. But her income is the only income included, and even that is assessed as NIL as she is recieving Tax credits which the CSA count as a benefit.....so in the CSA system she is on a benefit and therefore has no income and cannot contribute anything to the maintenance needed.

So perhaps everyone can understand why I feel bitter about it and have a big chip on my shoulder!! Nothing personal to PWC's just the unfairness of our particular case.

I was talking about favouriting one child over another, I never said the circumstances weren't different for each...
I know; I was saying that there are times when it is understandable when one child *is* given priority over another.

I had read somewhere that he sees him once a month, perhaps that was referring to an extra visit that he was offered and refused.
An additional day, once a month - last Saturday of month 10 - 6 if I remember correctly.

i got told the opposite. he paid money to me to pay for the car but nothing for me to raise the kids off of yet coz he had paid money to me the CSA took that as maintenance so i got royally screwed over missing out on months of payments and struggling to put food on the table while waiting for my benefits to be sorted out and him living the high life paying absoloutly zero towards me or my kids!

The CSA doesn't care if it's unfair to the PWC or the NRP which is why many people campaign for a fairer system for all.

Sometimes I'll borrow money off the ex, or like I said for half the cricket course etc he might pay it straight into my account and I get a bit worried in case it looks like I get more CS, I receive tax credits, I know it gets disregarded anyway but you never know when that might change!

Oh I didn't realise it was on the old system, I just rang the ex and said 'if you move in with someone can you make sure she's a good earner'.

Sorry I know it's not funny to those of you in this situation, I was just winding the ex up.

Sorry you'll have to persuade him to get off his you know what and get himself a well paid job if you want a better standard of living ;)

He gets a good wage, I don't know how much but I know he does ok and is living in the boss's house paying £120 a week rent all bills included (council tax, water, elec, gas etc) so has a lot disposable.

I know these comments are said in jest and this is not directed specifically at you or zoe - merely a retort to the comment

    BUT

people could get themselves a better paid job to have a better standard of living rather than relying on their ex.

No I was joking, he laughed. But in response, regardless of the PWC earnings the NRP still has to pay for the children's upkeep, and rightly so.

And just to add (I know you weren't having at dig at me) things like the cricket course are not part of the CS are they?

I do work by the way!

Not quite so easy in today's economic climate; unfortunately for both parties.

Also, am I right in thinking that a PWC on IS still gets the CS disregarded?

Sorry, I'm hijacking the thread now!
