As many people seem to be suffering procrastination here, how do you solve it?

I also have the same problem, so I decided that my New Years Resolution was to stop procrastinating.0

I don't get over it
I procrastinate a lot, leave the essay until the night before [or day of], and then work through it, making sure to give myself 5 minutes breather every hour or so [be it a wander to get a drink or playing Six Degrees of Wikipedia to see where I get].0 -
Ooooh Six Degrees of Wikipedia! That sounds like a great game for procrastinating! What does it entail??0

Ummm dunno, will have to think about it - can I report back tomorrow?0

Log off MSE, take a deep breath, roll your sleeves up - and get on with it!
Kidding aside...
Make appointments with yourself.
Honest.
Decide that you are going to do homework/notes/read-up/whatever at 2pm that afternoon and treat it the same way as you would an appointment to the the doctor or your tutor. Decide before hand how long for too. Even ¼hr chunks to start with.
Reward yourself.
You don't have to buy rewards - though if you're planning to get a choccy bar do a deal with yourself. Buy the choccie bar after doing a set amount of work, however small.
If you want to watch a particular program on the box - do a deal that you'll get such and such a thing done sometime during the day first. Same with on line time - make it a reward instead of an excuse.
Don't beat yourself up!
If you don't get these things done, don't give yourself grief over it - you're merely compounding your problems and adding a guilt trip. Put it behind you and make a new deal or appointment.
