Haven't lost anything either so much try harder. Might get all the clothes out that don't fit and lay them on the bed to try and give me some more incentive!

Piixxy don't worry and don't give up - you'll see a great loss next week. Sometimes your body can take a while to catch up, but if you stick with it, it will!

Well done to Paris, Ice SamCC (lost by default, lol) and BJ on your losses. BJ, the ideal healthy weight loss is between 1 and 2 pounds a week so you're doing great. Everyone loses weight at their own rate, be happy you've made a good start.

Lois, my weigh-in was this morning (I do it when I'm setting up the room for tonights group). I'm quite chuffed to see it's 3½lbs off this week. There's no need to alter the chart, this one can go on for next week.

I'm happy to announce that I've lost 8½lbs in the last 3 weeks. For the benefit of those who don't know, I should say that I've managed to gain 2 stone since taking on a group of my own - how shameful is that?? I stand up there every Tuesday night telling everyone else how to go on and I've been merrily putting on all the while. It just goes to show the power of having a support network for you, instead of providing support all the time. For my support I really do thank all of you on here, specially Lois for making the suggestion I might need support myself. My interim target is to lose another stone by the time we go to New York on 29th March (I CAN do it and I WILL)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Hi all,
Today is my first day, and I feel quite good, have not beet tempted by the chocolates or the crisps which I think is a good sign, although it is so cold it so tempting to eat stodgy/comfort food but I wont give up.

I dont want to look like a beach whale on holiday in may.

You can do it and you can have comfort foods too. Are you following a set plan?

Thanks for this post it has made me feel a lot less guilty about having regained a lot of my previous weight loss even if it was over a couple of years. I know just what to do to lose weight it's just actually doing it, and having read some of your previous posts you certainly have a lot on your plate (I don't mean food :rotfl: ) You really are an inspiration to us all :A and you still manage to find time for us.

Why can't losing weight be as enjoyable as gaining it

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Do you still go to class or do you just do it alone (at your own group, that is?)

Thank you (and Suggs). No I stopped going to class when I started my own group. I was warned that it's harder to keep on the straight and narrow when you doing the supporting instead of being supported - it's apparently been the downfall of quite a dew consultants.

Being a part of this 'online group' here has given me the push I needed - plus there's the wedding coming up and I'm determined I shall be a slim Mother-of-the-Bride this time 'cos I was a bit of a porker at the last one 4 years ago :D

While ever it's working for you, carry on. Have you looked at the recipes (follow the link on post no. 1). Even though they're for WW or SW, they are still healthy low-fat and low-cal so would be good for you.

Don't be frightened of having potato, pasta etc. It's not fattening in itself and is wonderfully comforting in this cold weather. You just have to be careful not to cook in fat and not to add high-fat sauces.

I know when you've got little ones you often haven't time to mess with long recipes, but fast food can be healthy too - there's nothing faster than pasta with a tomato based sauce or jacket potato with baked beans and they keep you full for a long time.

And I shall look forward to you changing your name to
    "samcancope" :rotfl:
