I bought some tesco apricot wheats - are they the same as the all brand ones or not? Just weighed in at the gym and I'm devastated. I've stuck to the plan like glue this week, planned everything that I've eaten, my clothes feel looser than they did last week, I went to the gym twice . .. and I've gained 0.2kg. Could have cried when I got on the scales. I'm typing this as I wait to do a class so best be off and try and burn off this. I'm so disappointed, and I was actually looking forward to weighing in as I was so sure I must have lost this week . . . . . .
Hi KPC - it's hard to know what to say, apart from that I know how you feel. The thing is to keep trying, don't give up and drown your sorrows with whatever comfort food you prefer. It could be that you've toned up by going to the gym as someone else said, muscle weighs more than fat - have you measured yourself?
Re the All Bran Apricot Wheats - I think it is just that particular brand as they are higher in fibre than others.
I'm going to put you down as a maintain for the 2 pound club, as 0.2kg isn't even half a pound.

honey28 wrote:LouBlue - Well done on getting to target :T Any tips for us?? How are you managing staying at target? Is it difficult?
Thank you Honey!
It wasn't easy and there were times I felt like giving up! WeightWatchers worked for me. They don't ban any foods and the meetings were a BIG help! I only went to a few meetings to begin with as I couldn't afford that every week but their online service is brilliant, you can get everything you need from that.
Once I had worked out what I should and shouldn't be eating, I just looked at it as a challenge. Some days were obviously harder than others but not being a big drinker helped as obviously that all counts. Some weeks I didn't lose weight but I always found that the next week I did. I just had a little of what I fancied so I didn't get too depressed, that was KEY, and the reason I have managed to stay on target for the past 5 years is that WeightWatchers really does change your eating habits. I now don't like the feeling of cramming myself full of chocolate or takeaways, it actually makes me feel ill. Your body changes when you start to eat more healthy so that really helps. Any help anyone needs, please just ask. I had to lose 3 stone so I know EXACTLY what you are all going through!!!A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
KatiePC I've pm'd you with the HEB list of cereals, hope it helps.
Don't worry about not losing when you've been doing extra exercise. I'm no expert but I've been told that your muscles hold extra water when you first start to exercise as protection against injury. This should even out over the next couple of weeks. Don't forget to drink extra to your 2 litres while you're doing exercise.
Honey I'm so sorry you're having this trouble with plateau-ing (is that a word?). Did you try the SE? It can happen that you stick for weeks then start moving again for no apparent reason, though I know it's very depressing. If you've tried everything else, what about having a big blow-out week. Eat everything in sight, then on the second week do a 100% week and you should get a good loss. Hopefully it'll get your metabolism revved up again.
Good luck with the dog. We used to have cocker spaniels, they're lovely dogs. We used to have to peg their ears above their head when they ate otherwise most of it had to be brushed out after dinner, lol. When we took them for walks they used to come home with a dozen sticky buds hanging off each ear :rotfl:
Welcome to the newbies Bewitched and SamCC, hope you find it helpful being among us.
Went well at the hospital, but I've got a sore [strike]bum[/strike] upper leg now. The anaesthetic was more painful than the biopsy actually. Have to say I'm glad it's over, I'm an awful coward :rolleyes:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hello, can I join in please?:o
I joined Scottish Slimmers two weeks ago, and was shocked at my weigh in. I had 1 stone 4lb to lose at that point. Lost 1.5lb last week, and just got back from my weigh in - 3lb this weekThreadhead0 -
Katie PC - know how you feel exactly. Got weighed at the gym tonight and lost 0.6 kg. Know that is over a pound and also it is a short week for me (changed my weigh in day to coincide with most of you on here) but sitll disappointed. I have been really strict with myself this week - no naughty morsels whatsoever passing my lips and 6 trips to the gym, and my clothes feeling looser than ever.
I know that it's what I look like rather than what the scales say but we still need the reassurance don't we? The hard part now is to stick to it and hope that the scales reflect my efforts next week.
Well done those of you who have had more successful weeks - in fact well done all of us for persevering with our quest to look slim and gorgeous!Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -

Hi and welcome to the thread. It looks like you've made a very good start to your healthy eating campaign, well done
ThriftyK it's much better to lose weight slowly and you will certainly be 'shaping-up' at the same time with all the exercise. As they say "patience is a virtue"!!
Off to have an early night, I hardly slept last night with all the trauma looming :rotfl: (told you I'm a coward) :wave:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi all
Here's the update for this week, with some very impressive weight losses, showing that there is still plenty of motivation around even three weeks after New Year and on Blue Monday. Slimmer of the Week goes to Karren with an amazing 7lbs loss - well done Karren! :T
Only 2 more weeks until 5th February, which is the target date for those who planned to lose half a stone in January and Amfiroda and Tallgirl are nearly there.
As usual, please let me know if I've missed you out and I'll amend the list tomorrow.
