I had an awful weekend food wise and I'm scared to weigh myself. I'll do it tomorrow morning - honest. We had a party on saturday and although I tried to eat the healthy stuff as much as possible I got lumbered with birthday cake, more birthday cake, sweets and pie. I feel like I can't say I'm watching my weight because some of the people there were larger than me and I don't want to insult people. A few of my friends are considerably bigger than me and I feel I can't tell them I'm on a diet as it's basically saying they should be.

Does anyone else have this problem? How do you get around it?
  • I lost 2lb this week, so i'm happy because i didn't do as much exercise as usual (usually do loads) and ate a whole bag of mingles and 3 creme eggs on sat night. oops! I think 2lb is ok though .... looking for sustainable weight loss!

Didn't do quite so well on the "i'm only going to look at the scales on a monday" target. think i weighed myself 7 times this week! I'll do better this week.

Good luck to all those with a WI later, well done to all who loose!

  • Looking good so far everyon - no unexpected gains and lots of losses. I'm having a slight issue with SW. I do Bodyoptimise which is the online version and it doesn't always seem to know what you can and can't eat - ie, I didn't know about being able to have the weetabix porridge as a HEB as it didn't - and still doesn't - give me the option in my food diary and the syns online doesn't tell you if you can have something as a HE. Cereal a particular biggie for me, so can anyone help me? I could do with a list of cereals that you can have a 42g portion of as a HEB or that are a portion in themselves, like the weetabix porridge. There are only about 4 on the downloadable list but I can't believe thats all there are. I've had it up to here with chuffing all-bran but the 28g portion of anything is so tiny it's just not worth having. I don't really like fruit or yoghurt so cereal really is the main option of a weekday morning. Help!

Hiya folks and well done to all of you who lost weight! Keep up the good work.

The points for the curry, chips and rice are in the Weigh Watchers eating out book if you have it (can't remember who was looking for the points earlier. I'll try and have a look later in my book to see what they are if you don't know).

Me, weigh day was Saturday and I should've taken the hint not to bother going as I slept in. I did though as I felt I'd had one of my better weeks in a long time where I spread my points over the week more evenly instead of playing catch up.

The long and short of it is I stayed the same, which I really should be happy with, but I really felt as if I deserved a loss of some sort, hoping to keep me on track for a loss of 2.5st for my birthday 10th February.

I blew it as a result, and resorted back to my old ways of dealing with stress, chocolate, had 12 squares of galaxy from a big bar - not too bad I know, as it could've been a lot worse, but Sunday I wasn't feeling much better so I ate a WHOLE ASDA SMALL LUXURY CHRISTMAS CAKE -26PTS AND THE 3 LUXURY CHOCS WHICH CAME IN THE BOX WITH IT. - PTS UNKNOWN FOR THOSE.

Guess who is playing catch up again this week and I feel so stupid and angry at myself, but today is a fresh day / day one and I'm going to try my hardest to recoup the points over the week and if I do gain next Saturday at next weigh in I know I have deserved it. The crazy thing is why is it when your having one of those stupid stress related pig outs you can't really taste what your eating and do you enjoy it ? NOPE!!!!!! AND I WON'T EVEN GO THERE ABOUT THE GUILT THING!

Here's to a better / good week to all.

Hi Katie - I'm not sure what the weetabix porridge is but 2 weetabix count as a healthy extra B. Often if I have planned my meals for the day and have a spare HE(B) then I double up on the 28g cereal or even count another 28g of cereal as syns. I agree that it isn't very much -although if its bran flakes or similar I bulk it up with a banana.
Consultant once recommended the following as a free breakfast on green. I have had it a few times and its not bad. Keeps the HE's free for later on in the day - Cook plain couscous - unlimited as free on green) Stir in a muller light yogurt and fruit (optional). I'll see I can find a list of cereals that you can have as HE

Cheekyweegit - Dont beat yourself up about the blow out. I'm quite sure that everyone of us on here can empathise with you and that we have all done it at some time (or several ;)) Put it behind you -it was yesterday. Today is another day so start afresh from today and put the weekend in the past. The best thing that you can do is remember how "bad" you felt after the blow out and recall that feeling if you are tempted to do it again. Don't let one bad day ruin your weight loss.

Well done to all the losers, there have been, yet again, some great weight losses :T

Consultant - all the best for the hospital appointment

My WI is tonight and I am feeling very nervous about it. I have been good, again, all week but don't think I have lost any again. It really is getting me down. I was tempted not to go tonight but that won't get me anywhere really!
On a brighter note, we went to the animal sanctuary yesterday - Just to look - and ended up putting our name down for a 4 month old black cocker spaniel cross!!!! (although they are unsure if it is actually a cross or a pedigree!) She is adorable and we have our fingers, toes and every bendy parts of our bodies crossed. There is another family ahead of us on the list but we both have to be home checked  Will keep you posted :D
  • MissMP I do agree, there's no age barrier to learning, indeed, it helps to keep you young, but I think my problem is idle-itis!!

You are certainly not idle. You spend ages helping people, especially on this list. Where would we be without you. Good luck with the hospital appointment.

Suggs I know how you feel about IT. I didn't like that part of the degree either.:D The computing side of the degree is much more interesting.

Honey Good luck with the dog. Did the rescue kennel say why they have it or rather what the people who gave it to them, said was the reason they couldn't cope with it anymore? I think you are brave taking on a rescue.

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
