Petrichor you should be able to have a healthy extra of wholemeal pasta or potatoes (with skins) with a red day meal. You can't have rice as a HE unfortunately as there's not enough fibre in it (even the brown stuff).

Well done all you losers - some really fantastic results. It's great isn't it how well you feel (not to mention how chuffed you are) at this point. I often think it's a pity we can't bottle the feeling to fetch out when we start to waver. Perhaps if you could sit and write down all the positive aspects of the way you feel now, it would help when the going gets a little tougher.

The thing that always surprises me is how well I sleep when I'm eating healthily. Normally I'm a poor sleeper, waking every couple of hours and sometimes taking an hour to get back to sleep, but when I stick to the plan and eat well, I can sleep for England - 8 or 9 hours with just a couple of trips to the loo (courtesy of all the water I drink) which I can barely remember next morning. It's a real bonus :D

Victory your standing straighter could well be down to the pride you feel in tackling a problem. Whatever it is, you must be looking good!

Flutterby I'm inclined to agree with BJ, you may as well use this forum for support if you don't follow the club plan when you jin them. Put the money you save into a pot and spend it on new clothes as you slim., like Poppielia (great weight loss by the way Poppie).

Lois good luck with weigh-in - the "water out" can be very annoying, but the "water in" isn't hard is it? I've grown to really enjoy my water with a slice of lemon.

I think the first flush of excitement over the determination to slim is perhaps waning for some people now and little treats are beginning to look increasingly tempting. So now's the time to find a real, long-term plan to take you to your end goal.

Count down the number of weeks to the next event in your life, could be a holiday or wedding. When you have the time factor, muliply it by 2 (the maximum healthy weekly loss) and this is the amount of weight you could realistically lose by the time that event arrives. My daughter gets married on June 30th (23 weeks away). She is determined to lose weight for her big day and could lose 46lbs (almost 3½ stone) if she follows the plan 100%.

Every one of us has something to slim for (even if it's a health issue rather than a vanity one). Pick a date, work out the weeks and commit yourself to following your plan (whatever it is) 100% and wait for those fantastic results.

The key words here are commitment and follow the plan 100%.

I do hope this idea helps some of you, but I'm sure there are other ideas which will work better for some. If you have a brilliant one, share it with us all please.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Evening All, Been so busy in work today I didnt get my daily fix and have been in the hairdressers all afternoon (I am gorgeous now :rotfl:) so only getting it now. Had to get DS out of the way to get on here!

My name is Honey and I am addicted to the Lose weight thread - there, I've said it :D

Had my lovely dinner last night and kept some over for lunch today. Guess what, I forgot it  Had to get 2 slices of granary bread and a banana from the staff canteen - got a lot of raised eyebrows and strange looks when I asked for it but it was the only thing that wasn't deep fried. How many syns are in granary bread?

Managed another 32 lengths at the pool last night so thats a mile that I have swam this week. Wont be going tomorrow since I have just paid to get my hair done!!

Consultant - your posts always inspire me. I do really wish I lived near to you so that I could go to your group. No offence to my consultant, she does a great job too. I'm sure you are really looking forward to the wedding - have you got your outfit sorted yet? I've 3 weddings this year, bridesmaid at 2 and relaxing and sitting with DH at the other!!

It really is cold today. Going to get the nippers into bed soon then snuggle on the sofa with a cup of options to watch 10 years younger. DH is on night shift so I have control of the telly!

Well done on all the weight losses so far. SOme fantastic losses this week.
  • Well I promised myself I would come on more regularly to try and keep me motivated but not managed it. However, I decided at the weekend I need to cut out biscuits and the 'odd sweet' altogether for a couple of weeks at least. Last week I would have a biscuit or choc and convince myself one wouldn't matter - but then found myself doing the same again later!

I have lost another half kilo (around a pound) and should be pleased but am disappointed - I know slow is best but I'm impatient.

However, on the positive side my clothes are already feeling looser and I know that that is due to the amount of time I have been spending in the gym so I will try not to be disheartened about what I see on the scales as I know from past experience that the scales don't always match what is happening to your body, if you know what I mean.

I had a few sessions with a personal trainer which I paid for last year and then was ill so didn't use, so am having one a week for the next 4 weeks. I have to do a food diary for him so that will help keep me on track, and writing everything down is certainly making me aware of what I am eating.

Had a yummy Greek omelette (red onion, olives, tomato and feta) with salad this evening and have saved my dessert of low fat Greek yoghurt with fresh raspberries for later as I know I will find myself drawn to the kitchen around 9pm!

Been catching up on all the posts - everyone is doing well and the support on here is fantastic.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
  • I feel like sh1te today, I am due on and have put on 2 lbs, I have cut out a lot of carp and been drinking loads of water.

Sorry I feel like I have let everyone down tonight.
Proud to be me, proud to be who I am!!
  • Hi Angeluk - obviously we were posting at same time and saw your post as mine came up. I can sympathise completely but don't let it get you down - tomorrow is a new day.

I am a bit erratic and never know when I'm coming on. I usually have a few days when I really can't stick to my healthy eating plan (try to kid myself I'm not on a diet by calling it that!) and crave chocolate desperately. Silly, but it catches me unaware every time and when I come on I think 'Oh that explains why I had to eat everything in sight'.

It sounds like water retention if you're not eating loads extra. If it is, then you will lose it in a couple of days, but even if (like me) you hit the biscuit tin, if you can get back on track a few days is not going to do any lasting damage.

Chin up - remember we're all in the same boat.

Honey Granary bread is 3½ syns for 28gms, so not bad at all and at least it's healthy, well done on choosing it!!

Angel come on, you haven't let anyone down, not even yourself.
It's a while now since I had the monthly blues, but it's a very real emotional upheaval and you can't be blamed for craving "bad" foods, just try hard not to give in to too many of them.
Well done on cutting out lots of rubbish and drinking your water, you'll get a brilliant result next week, I bet.
If you crave chocolate, try an Options drink, I find it really helps control the worst of the cravings.

Katie try not to be impatient, think about the fact that losing weight slowly gives your skin time to catch up and you're much less likely to be left with baggy skin.

Thanks again Honey, and you know, inspiration works both ways - I'm often inspired by the sheer determination of my members and those on here to get to their goal despite unsupportive relatives who feel the need to "feed you up" :rotfl:

Has anyone tried the Twinings Camomile and Honey Herbal tea? They are syns free. I bought a box on Monday and have just used the last one! They smell sweet and do taste quite sweet (the honey I suppose) but more importantly really do help take away the sweet craving. Might help someone..
