Morning all!
Off work today and trying to raise some enthusiasm for cleaning the house. Have just dropped the dog off at the groomers - he's one big woolly knot at the moment so he'll probably come back looking like a fat sausage on legs! (He's a bichon frise and very active but eats a lot too - like his mum!)
Had a slight wobble yesterday in the guise of a little bit of chocolate but am feeling better today. The Christmas bloat seems to be subsiding now - feel flatter and a bit less fat (not thin yet though!).
I should be more or less at my target after the last 7lbs are shifted , hopefully by Feb 5th, so no excuses for motivation?
I'm 10st 5lb and 5ft 5 (at WI on Weds) so 7lbs will see me back at 9 st something - the weight I was when I left university at 25, 10 years ago. I would love to be 9 and a half stone but always find that getting to that and maintaining it is a struggle so perhaps 9st 10ish would be a good place to be?
How do people shift the last little bit? It's definitely harder the closer you get - I think your body clings on to the last bit of flab in a panic, worried that it'll never see a cream cake again! Any advice for those of us that are within a stone of getting there but still need to keep going from the success stories amongst us?
Enough procrastination - off to start the cleaning (or to watch nutters on Jeremy Kyle!)
Have a good day

hello Plum Pie - welcome to our little gang!
With regards to lunches, I find that if I make a bit more at tea time I have a half sized portion for lunch the next day at work and it takes the effort of having to think about yet another meal away. I'm bone idle though and hate cooking so the less I do of it the better. The other thing I do is make a soup and have it for a few days for lunch - again pretty effort free.
I have a bunch of grapes in the fridge and pick at those when I get home before tea is ready because otherwise it would be biscuits, cheese anything that I can grab and shove into my mouth whilst the meal is cooking.
I'm also a advocate of walking (I have gym membership but tend to only end up going about twice a month however good my intentions are). I have a dog so have to walk him but perhaps you could borrow one or volunteer at a dogs home on the weekend as a walker - stick your ipod on with some upbeat music (Faithless are my current dog walking favourites) and yomp along. It's surprising how out of breath you can get and how much better you feel afterwards and its pretty low impact for those with injuries.
Anyway, must do cleaning!

hi all
my first day on sw was a bit confusing, need to read books properly
i decided to have a green day and made veg soup but used my healthy option of bread and cereal before lunch and was left eating loads of fruit to fill up on and then after work had soup again but was still hungry so had cereal/cheese & crackers.. and used all 10 syns
just felt the need to nibble all day and was amazed how much i craved for chocolate
i never usually eat it but had loads over xmas so must still be in my system
i know i could have had much more better choice so am going to shops today to stock up
trying red day today
love mrs ms0 -
I had a bit of a bad day on the eating front, yesterday
. I'm doing supply teaching at the mo and wasn't expecting any work until next week or the week after, so I was snoozing when the phone rang with a job! I didn't have time for breakfast:o , but managed to make sandwiches in double quick time for lunch. In the evening I buckled under the pressure of a blueberry muffin.
(as well as my supper)
HOWEVER, I have four "sins" of chocolate left until Lent starts, all of which I'm saving for my week of walking in the Lake District at half term. Then it's no chocolate for the whole of Lent. (DH has done me a deal because I did so well over Lent last year, he's upped the stakes).
There's a great free Weight Watchers recipe booklet that came with my Good Food magazine that DH and I are going to try over the coming weeks.
DH weighed himself last night and was miserable that he'd put weight on. He's 11st! I need to lose weight to at least be the SAME as him!
Better dash because I've got some walking (and shopping) to do!

Morning all and welcome to the new vistors, some many now I cant keep up.
I have tried to be good this week. Managed 2 swimming sessions, 3 aquacise and 4 gym sessions since last Thursday evening. I am deterimed to get rid of the Christmas excess. Oddly the scales in the gym have yet to move in either direction
PlumPie I argee swimming is boring, I only have a 8metre pool but somehow I manage to forget the number of lengths Im doing from one side to the other
In the office today for a 'kick off' meeting all day (buffet lunch at 12.30!) and for the lucky ones theres dinner and drinks all night. But I have the children this weekend and so most temptation has been removed. however there is a tin of celebrations in my study along with 3 big packs of peanuts!!
Actually its my eldest daughters birthday today (oh to be 15!!) and I have said we will have indian later, is it best for me to stear away from the creamy sauces? and the nan breads? Though to be honest I have yet to eat today, thats the problem with getting up early, prefer my bed to eating
Right back to work for me. Hope your all ok.Proud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

I'm 5'6 and, ooh should I say it? Go on then 18 stone. OMG typing it makes it sound worse:eek: I was gonna put my name down earlier, but I still have a couple mince pies left and am a little stressed until Monday when I have my exam for Uni. After that I have 2 weeks free to start my exercise routine and try to get it established before I start semester 2.
I need all the encouragement I can get, my lil' sis gets married in 8 months and I need to look GREAT!0 -

hiya just pm yer sign me up
ooh btw does anyone know the password for sw this week. Can we still do that0 -
Hi Folks.
Miss Moneypenny, you can have up to 15 syns a day and SW recommend you use all of them so don't worry about yesterday. To quote consultant on this if you are having a must have chocolate moment try the Options hot chocolate drink, they are only 2 syns and should take the edge off your craving. Good luck with your red day today. Feel free to ask any questions on here, there are a lot of SW-ers so someone should be able to help!
Rachel - when you have the cleaning done could you come round and do mine pleaseI'd love a dog to walk, I just don't want to have to clean up after one!
Going to try and get swimming this afternoon when I get home as OH is off work today and will keep kids. Its actually quite good being back to work, in that I am now back into a routine of eating proper lunches and breakfast instead of left over pate, pringles etc...
Happy Birthday to Junior Suggs. Enjoy the Indian but I would def avoid naan bread and creamy sauces. Try something oven cooked like tandoori and without sauce for the healthier option. Easier said than done I know
VickyA - the trip sounds great and something for you both to focus on. I find it helps to have a reason to keep going with the weight loss. I've 2 bridesmaids jobs ahead this year, (2 x stick insect brides ) so that is my focus. Enjoy the shopping

Hi I'm pretty new around here but I'd like to join in.
My biggest weakness is lager and pints of it. I know if I can give that up it will make a huge difference, but you'd be surprised how hard it is.
I managed to get myself off crisps (and cigarettes) using Paul Mckenna but unfortunately it doesn't work for the lager (I think the love is too strong) but I'm making an effort to wean myself off the stuff and this time it's going to work.
