Not so much split ticketing but total madness!
My dh works in London and the daily ticket from Angmering to Victoria is £39.30
However angmering to Newquay via victoria can be as low as £31 that's going out on the 6.41 am train. I am sure with a little brain power and tweaking there is a bargain to be had. You will need to play around tho as the journey is long so you will probably need to book for one day returning the next but using over lapping tickets I am sure there is a way round it. I used the national rail enquiry site for ticket prices.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0 -
Bit muddled...
A number of people here have said that Manchester to Edinburgh is a Megatrain route, but when I looked it up on the Megatrain website, it only showed this as a megabus route - with megatrain routes limited to the south. I don't understand!!!0 -
Hi, I'm wanting to get approx. 4 adults (not 100% sure of numbers yet!) on the above route; out friday 18th July, in Monday 21st. Cheapest I'm currently getting is £176 advance, unsplit. I've tried splitting at Doncaster to no avail. Anyone any suggestions?
Thanks0 -
Map gives more clues http://nationalrail.co.uk/tocs_maps/maps/trainoperators.pdf
What about Retford, Sheffield, Nottingham, or Newark. Hull Trains sometimes have deals from Hull, also check Megatrain.comPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Thanks very much richard, I'll try those.0

Hi
Here's one that I've just found for Lancaster to Crewe:
Lancaster to Crewe: Saver Return - £20.55
Lancaster to Warrington Bank Quay: Cheap Day Return - £9.00
Warrington Bank Quay to Crewe: Cheap Day Return - £5.90
Total - £14.90
Saving - £5.65
Not much of a saving bearing in mind this is with a 16-25 railcard, but for a student every penny counts so this is worth a fair bit to me....can get a couple of pints for that:D
Without a railcard the same split cuts the cost from £31.10 to £22.50, saving £8.60.0 -

Anyone got any split ticket tricks for this route please
I'm trying to go green and not go in the car, but if it's going to cost a fortune then I'll still go in the car
