Wanting to travel from York to Kidderminster on 08/01/2008 need to arrive at kidderminster at about 08:45. (Have meetings at 09:00 nearby). Intend on staying at a travelodge or soemthing nearby then returning on the 09/01/2008 at about 5pm this time to Scarborough instead of York?

can anyone help in finding the best route for me?

You can get advance singles at £10 each way from York to Kidderminster and back from Kidderminster to Scarborough. Split ticketing will not reduce those fares in any way.

You will have to leave on the previous evening, 7 January - unless you want to leave at something like 3am and pay the full open fare

Plenty of availability of the £10 fare at the moment.

You will have to change stations in Birmingham - there's a free bus, daytime at least, and it's not a long walk anyway

looking for train from plymouth to gatwick airport after 4pm on 28 01 2008, returning 13/02/08 10am, cheapest i could find was £60 for 2 people, can anyone find any cheaper would be much appreciated.

Try splitting at Reading as you have to change there anyway.

You will NOT get it cheaper than that (well £58 maybe - the cheapest possible fare). Book it while it's there.

And forget rebooking at Reading, well-meaning suggestion as that may be. The fare from Reading alone is £45 return for 2.

The trouble with the complexity of rail fares is that people don't realise when they are cheap.......

Bristol temple meads return to Birmingham can be split at cheltenham for half the price of the normal ticket . Me and three kids with railcard was £41.00. You can stay on the train and most trains stop at cheltenham spa so its a really good one.

To go from Birmingham to Sheffield split the route at Derby; from Birmingham to Bristol split the route at Cheltenham
