Why does it track at £50?

Mine has tracked at £50 too - Sometimes this happens and then it adjusts the amount a few days/weeks later.

Just got a sim from CPW and their website states rate as being 8p and 4p

    Go to carphonewarehouse.com/pay-monthly/tariff-deals/TMSO1

So not sure where this new figure is coming from. I will wait and see and if charged more, will pursue it as mis-selling.

They have now finally updated their website to be correct.

The above website that dragonfire has quoted does now contain the correct rates - 30p/min and 14p/text for run on charges.

If you still believe you're going to pay 8p/min and 4p/text run-on rates please wake up and pay attention.
Good luck with your mis-selling claims.

I maintain that this "£1 deal" is going to be a red herring for many. If you just use your phone to make call, and use between 12 and 31 minutes a month, every month, it's a great deal. If you're often outside of that boundary, stick with a 8p/min PAYG option.

OH sod. Bought one of these for my elderly mum who rarely uses her mobile phone bought for "emergencies", and it appears that I should have ported her number last night when ordering. She stresses about getting top ups and charges for calls on her mobile so I got her this on the basis that a) she only uses about 10 minutes per month and does not text (she says she will "learn" but I doubt this. I was thinking that even if she came late and keen to mobile phone usage she wouldn't rack up much for 8p a minute) I told her that she doesn't have to worry about getting top ups in future as "it is all sorted". A key thing tho is not changing her number (i realise that given she has only had 2 £10 top ups in 3 years this deal isn't particularly good value, the call spend is not important - I wanted her to feel more comfortable about using it and carrying it - if anything, I'd like the usage to go up so she is in contact regularly (I am sure others with elderly parents will understand).

    Hi, sjpkgp.

I know I have been knocking this tariff quite a lot as a con, but you have one of the examples of where it is a good deal - avoiding the need to top up for a low user and the reasurance the phone will always work when needed. 10 minutes or so a month for £1 om the reassurance of a monthly bill rather than top ups is a good deal.

If you find you are successful in getting your mum to use the phone more, and the 30p run on rate is pushing monthly bills the other side of £4 each month the there is another monthly billed option for just £2 a month from The Phone Co-op. This is seemingly a much worse deal at first glance - it costs twice as much (£2 per month) and you get absolutely no free minutes - but you do get a 7p/min rate charged by the second, min call charge 1.2p, so that makes 37 minutes of calls about the same with both deals. (if the few calls she does make are going to be to landlines, then they do have a 4p/min deal instead (but that would charge 11p/min to mobiles).

If she really gets carried away, chitter chatter offer a £6/month SIM with 100 minutes and texts and unlimited landline calls, but this is probably getting a bit carried away.

I'm sure it will only take one monster talkmobile bill on this £1/month tariff (ie the month the car breaks down and end up using to for and extra half an hour of various calls and rack up and extra £10 for the priviledge).

However, for your mum, I think it's going to be very good buy.

Couple of questions if anyone can help me. I am thinking of going for this deal as I have very low usage.
If the unused mins/texts roll onto next month, is it just for one month or more?
Has anyone's quidco tracked? i haven't joined topcashback - would it really track at £50??
I will need a cheap phone for this - I have looked at Tesco as they have double up - can anyone guide me here? I think there is only one phone that is on vodaphone. I just want a basic phone - no fancy bits!
Lastly someone mentioned that billing is from 15th -so to make the most one should order just before that? Does that make a difference? Is it the ordering date that matters or activating date?
    Thanks for any guidance/help.

Don't know if anyone covered this before I've tried to search on phone on this thread proving a little difficult
What about voicemail I've tried turning it off with luck? I assume there is a charge to listen to them if there is how can I turn it off?

    Thanks
