mwjmum wrote:Thank goodness for that. The thought of visiting ONE Tesco store brings me out in a cold sweat - I thought you were doing it for the fun of it!! All the best to your little one.
The little one ain't that little anymore but thanks for your kind sentiments.
I do have to admit though........I love going to Tescos!0 -
ive always viewed coupon usage as a privallege not a right. Tescos are happy to accept vouchers even if you dont buy the product, and im happy to hand vouchers in for part payment if they will accept them. I will politly ask the ca if he'll scan any and if they take them great
if not they go back in my purse for the next week.

I consider it a bribe. If Tesco didn't take coupons, i'd shop at Sainsburys.0

I have 3 x 20p of coupons here that I won't use as they are for a brand of bread I don't buy, also the reduction would still make it more expensive than my chosen item.
I received this reply today from an email i sent regarding voucher use after this thread was started.
I sincerely apologise for the delay in responding to your query. I would like to explain that any coupons, which display the Tesco logo, are Tesco specific. We only accept these if the products referred to on the coupons are purchased. This is because we negotiate savings with our suppliers on the condition that these actual products will be purchased.
With regard to coupons from brand name manufacturers, we are happy to accept one, even if you have not purchased the product. The coupon must be in date and Tesco must sell the item. If you present more than one identical coupon, then you must purchase the same number of products. This also applies to coupons printed from the Internet. These will only be accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager. I hope this explains our policy for coupons.
We would like to ask you a few questions about the recent e-mail communication you or someone in your household has had with a representative from Tesco. If you would like to participate in this survey please complete the attached.
Thank you for your co-operation.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk
Kind Regards

Tonight in my local tescos the young girl cashier said I don't know if we accept Somerfield vouchers, then turned to the girl on the next till to her & she said they did.. RESULT !!! £7 off a £30 shop..
FYI:- Last months Somerfield vouchers are still being accepted by the tills at Tesco :-))"I took her to a supermarket,I don't know why but I had to start it somewhere" :cool:0 -

Me too, my local tesco is a horrible, disorganised shop. I still go to Sainsbury's for a fix, but only purchase their fantasticly reduced items.0 -
Today, at the tills the SA refused my non purchased voucher 25p on one shop and a voucher for £1.00 on another shop. He didn't really want to scan my health and beauty ones either but I pushed him to do it by saying I had used them yesterday with no probs.
Tomorrow, another store, but they will be different again I wish they would be consistent or even set the tills to accept X amount of vouchers least then we would know the rules.
Welshy xI am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL

Yesterday, an SA accepted 5 vouchers totalling £11 ish. I purchased 3/5 products, though.
Today, I used the one, as I didn't like the look of the SA, he looked a bit hostile. It was for a product I'd purchased though. The way he just scanned without even looking makes me believe he would have taken the other 3 I had.
I'm quite happy to use a few SA's who I know have no problems accepting vouchers. I always double check beforehand, though, saves on the embarassment!"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -

Hi Charlene, it's nice to see you posting again.
My new tactic with my favourite SAs, is that if I see them free whilst walking past I'll jump on their checkout, stops all that embarassment of loitering down the toilet roll aisle until they're free. Usually I haven't finished my shopping, so I can make a big thing about forgetting things so I'll have to go round again, then the SA isn't surprised when I appear with a second load of shopping and yet more vouchers!!!0 -
still hit and miss at the moment one SA took 10% off exactly, another said only 2 coupons. I'm just grateful for any savings0
