Must admit it has never crossed my mind to leave on a light. I can understand if you have young children but otherwise just put it on when you need it.
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

We don't leave lights on, however we do have a few of those plug in lights that come on in the dark when they sense movement.
  • no lights left on at all. I'm lucky enough to be out in the country so no street lights or anything else to disturb us either.

We have family in Canada whom we stay with regularly - when we are there they have a little thing that plugs in the socket and gives off a faint glow. It's just enough to stop the hallyway being in complete darkness and let you find your way around. We've been visiting for the last 19 years though and can find our way around no bother - even in the dark but my aunt won't hear of turning it off in case we can't find the loo in the middle of the night! I'm sure you can buy something similar in this country
    NO FARMS = NO FOOD
  • No lights on for me over night , I have become an expert at navigating my way to the bathroom in the dark if need be , in fact hardly have the lights on at all in the summer months but then I am in bed by 9 most work nights, sadly though the house is like Blackpool illuminations in the Winter months when the dark nights draw in
Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing' ;)
  • When my kids were little (about 2 + 4) one of them won a colouring competition. The prize was a plug in night light. We put it in the elder ones bedroom along with a potty so she could avoid night time accidents. Now it goes in the hall so that trips to the loo are easier. It has lasted for years (DD is now 24):rotfl: They still both live at home and insist on plugging it in every night! The light it gives off is much fainter now and it doesnt even register on the electricity monitor. That is the only light in this house at night and all the curtains are shut so other than the landing we are in darkness.

No I don't leave a light on either at night I did when the children were littole but as there is only me at home and I have never yet not found my way to the loo even in the dark I wouldn't think to leave a light on and waste money like that I have all low-energy bulbs in my house anyway why waste resources
  • Nope!

Why do you need a light on in the bathroom - can you not turn it on if you need to go?

I understand people with wee kids

I don't leave any lights on at night, but then having a street light in the front garden may have something to do with it ;).

It gives enough light for me to be able to get to the loo and back.
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

If you really must leave a light on for fear of peeing in the wardrobe and not the loo, get some plug in LED ground lighting.

    what?????

I think we are all nuts in this house till I come on here
