yes we have a couple on.
my dd has a night light on in her room and we now leave the bathroom light on. we used to have the landing light on and it was dimmed right down but dimmer broke and being married to a sparks means i have to wait a while ,lol.
my boys like to sleep in the darkness but our youngest is 3 and is still getting used to using the big toilet at night so we need the light .
both lights which are left on are low watt energy ones.0 -
I am on economy 7, not my choice we share an electric supply with the neighbour, so this presumably cuts the cost of the light on over night.
I either put the washing machine on when going out to work or, more often now I have a timer, overnight. I am not aware of it being a fire risk. By definition it does have a water supply going into it.0 -
I don't leave lights on at night at all. If I need to get up for the bathroom I just switch it on (sometimes I don't even do that if I'm trying to convince myself I'm really still asleep!)
But then I like it dark to sleep. We're in the countryside so no nasty street lights either. Although it gets a bit disconcerting if we've got a really bright moon!0 -
I leave the hall light on at the top of the stairs, its an energy saving one, and its only on so if any of us need the toilet in the middle of the night (usually me) we dont fall down the stairs. Im a bit dopey in the middle of the nightkonMarie and fabbing all the way

Don't leave any others on0 -
I like sitting in the dark. I have a desklamp here for when i'm on the computer and if i go away i'll leave a couple of lamps on timers.
A bit of light for the kids getting up in the middle of the night, don't they do some sort of plug thing that goes in a socket and just gives a glow. One in the bedroom or the landing may help.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

In my conservatory I have a couple of those little solar ornaments from the pound shop, they sit inside on the window ledge facing inward and they shine right into my living room. I don't need a light for the hall or bathroom in the night as my neighbour has one of those 500w bulbs that come on when I walk past the window at night so I'm a real cheapo.

We also live in the middle of nowhere with no street lights and we NEVER leave lights on. I often get up in the middle of the night to go to the loo, but I can find my way there without light. It's not like it's ever PITCH black, even on a moonless night, particularly if you've just woken up.
My DD would give me no end of grief if we left lights on as she is our family Green rep. The whole family is pretty green, but she likes to be our policewoman :rotfl:0 -
Bathroom and landing/stairs. Both my girls have always prefered to sleep with their bedroom doors open and so they don't need any extra light in their rooms. The boys were never bothered, but always shared a room and had each other for company. Not a lot of point in leaving the living room light on for any reason - no overhead light just three tiny wall lights. The landlord used to live here before he decided to let the place out, and I imagine he ate a lot of carrots. Even fully 'illuminated' the living room is still like the black hole of Calcutta.Freddie Starr Ate My Signature

Heck no. Aside from the fact that we live in a flat and it would keep us awake adult humans can see in the dark so there is no need to use a light. We also dont have a door on kitchen bathroom lounge etc as there is not much room to open and close them. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
