Do You Think That Cyclists Should be Insured and Registered On Roads, I do

I wonder if they should bring in a law so that cyclists on the roads are registered like car drivers.

Why?

because if the cyclist hits someone crossing they are not insured and can ride off into the blue yonder and no one can trace them?

The amount of cyclists that just go over crossings on red when people are actually crossing it to. They just dont care at all and have no consideration for pedestrians. They go over red lights as well. They seem to think that the rules of the road dont apply to them. Maybe they would think twice if they were registered.

Even disabled people in those cart things have to be registered I believe. so why shouldn't a cyclist be registered then? Even if they had a special number or something and the bike registered in their name as well and a low insurance or something.

The amount of times I have been crossing when cyclists have nearly hit me. It makes me really mad. They just ride off and dont even say sorry or nothing. One actually clipped me once and just rode off.

What do you think people? dont you think they should be insured and registered if being on the road?

What about young children under that age of criminal responsiblity. Would they need insurance too or should they be banned from riding?

I suggest you pay more attention when crossing the road and look out for other road users. How come you stepped in front of a bike? Would you have done the same if it were a 44 tonne truck?

So you are saying that I should pay more attention which I do, but its ok for the bike rider to run reds lights yes? So the bike rider can do what the hell they want and stuff pedestrians yes. what about disabled people crossing the road or a blind person, should they look out for them to then, when they hear the beep that the lights are red for them to cross and out of no where comes a cyclist straight over the lights, I also suggest that you stop and think and dont be so selfish.

As for your question. whatever age the person is, if they want to ride the road, yes, registered and insured, Say a child then rides the road and they get badly injured, if they have insurance they can put in a claim cant they, no insurance no nothing. Say they get injuries from a road traffic accident. Whether adult or child they can claim, but I wonder why younger children would be riding on busy roads anyway.

The other day I was crossing and all the traffic stopped and a bike rider came out from no where and shot straight across me and nearly knocked me down, he just rode off and could not give a stuff. RED means STOP!

at least a 44 tonne truck is insured. and stops at the lights. cos if they dont they know they will be in trouble. You are defending cyclists that run red lights. If cyclists stop at lights then fine, but most dont. Are you one of them?

How do you know if cyclists are insured or not? I am insured, but you can't tell it from looking at me.

In that case if the driver of a vehicle was at fault they'd claim on their insurance.

    Do you drive?

I hope not as you clearly do not understand how motor insurance works.:D
