LMFAO he's wondering why staff morale is so low.
ERM PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY SPEND 8 HOURS EVERYDAY DOING MIND NUMBINGLY BORING TASKS SUCH AS PUSHING BOXES AROUND AND PUTTING COKE CANS ONTO SHELVES FOR £5.93 AN HOUR?!0 -
Theres nothing we (poundworld) can do about minimum wage
Eh, think there is.....Yorkshire based value retailer Poundworld saw sales surge by 40 per cent in the last financial year, thanks to new store openings and the VAT reduction in January. The 90-store chain reported that turnover had risen from £67 million to £93 million in the year to March 31, although increased supply chain costs meant pre-tax profits fell from £1.4 million - £1.2 million. The retailer opened 16 new stores during the period and intends to open 37 more by the end of the next financial year.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
25 % staff turnover? Must be why they have unemployed people doing work placements in their stores.0

Some of Poundworlds policies regarding the balancing of their tills and clocking in are taking their workers below the NMW. And a staff member walked out of a meeting so they stopped the 5 minute breaks of other staff members. What a nasty company.0

Amazingly, people are still desperate-enough to work there despite the low wages. If they make their employees stay behind without pay in order to attend meetings, balance the tills and other stuff, then surely if it pushes their wages below NMW, then they have a right to report Poundworld for breach of NMW regs.
With enough evidence, Poundworld would be hit with a massive fine.Never Knowingly Understood.

The clocking on issue with the fingerprint (very MI5) he did say about it not being acceptable docking 2 hours pay for forgetting to clock in/out. Yet at the end - NOTHING was mentioned - I assume they think the viewer would have forgotten about that. Disgusting way to treat your staff.0

And the admission and evidence is right there on camera.0 -

Their margins being low are irrelevant - bottom line is they are bucking the trend and making millions of pounds of profit (ok 1.2 pre-tax) while shamefully operating in this manner.
In addition....the lift that hadn't worked in years - perhaps their maintenance regime requires audit and review... http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1998/2306/regulation/5/made
A shocking, exploitative organisation where profit came before workers health and safety.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
