A bit of a toxic brand at this current time!
They're to call it 'Dealz' in Ireland where the Euro is the currency

..But that's PoundLAND, whereas this thread is about the 'undercover' boss of PoundWORLD0 -
Its sad as many of the jobseekers don't even get a good deal whilst doing slave labour. Its these endless employment schemes with no point to them which will all end before the general election. I guess its a good experience of how an employer should not act and a prime contractor taking the Mick with such a dwp scheme in the offending area this should be investigated. Although I think most are at it. The flip side is that at least we are getting something for the dole money we pay out its just a joke that an ex bailiff magic carpet sales man is profiting from our failures in our society. It stinks. The harder one works the luckier one gets!0

Its fair enough to say that "at least we are getting something for the dole money we pay out" but many people who are being forced to work for their benefits and have become unemployed through no fault of their own, have previously been in long term paid employment BEFORE losing their jobs and then being forced to work for their dole. That means they have paid into the system so if they are being forced to work for their dole money then they have effectively paid twice over for the same thing!
And Poundworld are one of the biggest culprits taking advantage of this situation.0 -
Is it me or does every episode follow the same procedure?
They always find someone who is Just like the uncover boss, who wants to advance up the career path, this person is usually very pretty/good looking .... and everyone the boss meets is super efficient and hard working etc. It just doesnt happen like its dipicted in this show.
Although the rewards that are offered are not as generous as I would expect for such big companies even in these austre times.
TP
Indeed each episode does follow the same procedure!
Don't forget there is always a member of staff who is working through some sort of "hardship". Cue Undercover Boss doing something to make their life better..."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" It's sad that these bosses have to go undercover to realise what's going on in their own company. It only goes to show that many CEOs are completely useless and out of touch with reality.
I mean, the one with Southern Fried Chicken was pathetic, and this one sounds like it's going to be even worse.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
I thought the one who went undercover at Ann Summers was extremely embarrassed about the business she worked for - can't remember her name but was one of David Gold's daughters I think. All very nicey nicey doing the stuff in head office, but the business of the business was all a bit too seedy for her. Rather amusing really.Make £2025 in 2025

I couldn't believe how little they seemed to have a clue what was going on in their own business. There were branches of SFC on his list that had stopped trading with that name and he didn't know.

I suspect the programme is sanitised and does not reflect the real world.
Indeed. All these 'reality' type shows are all the same.Everyone the MD's meet are super efficient, customer focused and seem very conscientious, and I wonder if participants have been 'selected'.
To be fair, the local supervisor/manager knows they have a new employee starting, they're going to have their best member of staff mentor the newbie rather than the worse, regardless of the TV cameras. Right? If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
