I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -

Hi all, I have just recieved my first letter from Roxburghe debt collectors, so my plan is to carry on ignoring them. I'm actually more concerned as to how they have got my mobile phone number? I got a call from them asking to confirm my postcode but my signal dropped and they haven't called back since!0

Goldy in short ignore roxburghe, if you wish further advice please start a new thread in this section of the forum, this is a very old thread. Thanks

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
If they call again you can either string them along with rubbish, or if you do genuinely just want them to go away just say the following:
"The debt is denied, you must now refer the matter back to your client in accordance with Office of Fair Trading guidelines on debt collection. Any further contact from you will constitute harassment and appropriate action may be taken under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997."
Then end the call. DO NOT ENTER INTO A DISCUSSION WITH THEM.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Hi All,
Yesterday I also received a Charge Notice from Innerguard for exceeding the free parking at a shopping centre in Northampton.
The fine is £75 and will be reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days. There is also an extra £40 admin charge if not paid within 28 days.
On the document, they also make reference to the new "Protection of Freedom Act-Schedule 4" which covers details on parking fines on private land. As a new forum user, I cannot add the full link, but you can go into the www legislation gov uk site and add "Protection of Freedom" in the search box.
I had a quick read thru but all seems a bit Greek to me. Has anyone taken time to read thru it in detail and does it seem that Innerguard would have any powers? Thanks!0 -
Spend a bit of time reading through loads of threads here on MSE and also on https://www.pepipoo.com and you'll soon get the gist of POFA ..... and also take note of the extensive advice on both forums to IGNORE all fake invoices from PPCs (but not councils or the police).
And stop worrying! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yes. It means next to no change at all:

Rather than bumping an old and long dead thread, a look at the current threads - incl quite recent ones about Inner Guard would have given you the up to date position.0
