Rumour has it Sainsburys are doing the same deal as last year- the game for approx £28/29 when you spend £30 on shopping.
they had a similar deal last year. i found out when i asked at the counter. i wanted to say but i dont want to spend £30 on f***ing shopping. especially in an expensive shop like sainsburys.
i cant be bothered shopping around this year. i have already seen that my local hmv is charging £44.99 and i doubt anywhere in town will be cheaper. so i may just go to my local asda at midnight which is just down the road. i think if i wait until morning they will have sold out.

what are the queues usually like in supermarkets for midnight releases?

from experience it depends on the game, last year for black ops(at sainsbury's) the queue was nothing but a few years ago i queued up in asda for fifa 10 i think and the queue was quite long. Cant compare the 2 as the 2 stores ar ein different areas of town eg asda is in not a very nice area or not an area id want to live in whereas sainsbury's is on its own away form any trouble areas.

Morrisons are seling it for £25 when you buy a LIVE subscription or tesco is £25 when bought with ms points or a subscription.

i will be getting it for ps3 and i dont bother with online stuff. anyway the purpose is to save as much money as possible. if i was happy to pay extra for something else then i would be happy to just stroll into hmv tomorrow afternoon and pay the normal price.

Taken from the website of MCV - the UK's leading games retail industry magazine

    Best Buy – £29.99 in-store (Tuesday Nov 8th only)
Tesco – £25 when bought with either £16.99 2100 MSP card, 12 months Xbox Live membership for £34 or a £25 PSN card
    Sainsbury’s – £28.99 when bought with £30 of shopping
    Asda – £38.97
Morrisons – £25 when purchased with £34.99 Xbox Live card
GAME – ‘Half price’ (the price itself is not specified, but is like ly to be £50-£55) when customers trade-in either Gears of War 3, Dead Island, FIFA 12, Batman: Arkham City, Resistance 3, F1 2011, Forza 4, Dark Souls, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, X-Men Destiny
HMV – £9.99 when customers trade-in either Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3 or Goldeneye

Looks to me like Asda's the best deal unless you happen to be doing your weekly shop (Sainsburys) or are due to renew your Xbox Live subscription (Tesco)

I should mention that the reason Best Buy aren't leading the way is due to them announcing the end of their store retail venture today, atleast if something goes wrong with the game between now & christmas you're pretty certain that Asda, Tesco etc will still be open & trading, while i can't remember the timetable for BB's pullout it is happening.

A local-ish branch of Sainsburys is open midnight tonight with the game so Im going to head down.

They confirmed the £28.99- if you spend £30 on shopping.

The queues werent that massive last year- I mean there might have been 100 people in my branch but they have half a dozen tills open so it only took 10mins to get the game.

Unofficial, but I'd heard Gamestation / Game were selling it instore for £44.99... I'm kinda confused about that coz if they are doing the half price when trading in Batman (which I was gonna do!)

Half of £44.99 makes it £22.50 - checked instore today and they said they were offering a standard Trade in (store credit) for Batman Arkham City of £25.00.... So how is that a deal?

I believe when I heard about the £44.99 for the standard game but don't see how it's going to work with that deal.

I have £26 store credit for Gamestation and have currently pre-ordered for a fiver so although the game itself is more expensive, it works out the cheapest for me (£44.99-£5 preorder - £22.50 trade in Batman = £17.49 of which I can cover with £26 credit)

However, as stated above it doesn't make sense? Unless they reduce the trade in price overnight, or the price isn't going to be £44.99 on the day!

If Game / Gamestation are charging £50 or £55 for the game, I'm heading to HMV to get it for a tenner with Batman (coz that only cost me £4.99 plus Gears 3, which only cost me £22 the rest was daily clicks paypal balance) :D

I hate this time of year, but with MW3 and BF3 taking up all my time for the next 6 months, I've not got time for Arkham City, so will just get it again pre-owned in 6 months for a tenner and finish it off.... Already got the codes for Catwoman and Robin so don't need a new game.

you certainly have to be careful with offers. for example last week you could get £5 off uncharted 3 if you traded in any 2 games at gamestation. what they dont tell you is it was £5 cheaper in hmv anyway. so the £5 off bit was bo**ocks.
