If they had properly charged our credit cards instead of just reserving the money would it be any different?

I have edited the link out just in case. If I am wrong, I apologise, but better to be safe than sorry.

is there any chance you could ban that +~#!'s IP address from the board or at least raise the problem with the other mods and admins, m8? And report him to his ISP for misuse of the board?

Totally agree with those sentiments about 'Elmer Lurker', who seems very knowledgeable considering he only joined MSE today!

I would go one step further than that - if there is anything to link this guy with MSE Lurker (other than circumstantially through the obvious anagrams) and the link that was removed can be shown to also contain a virus I would argue that two attempts to infect peoples machines proves absolute intent to spread a virus on the internet - this is actually a police matter.

Surely MSE have enough details to volunteer to the Police so this guy can actually be prosecuted.

Of course, this is in no way intended to be interpreted as support for those wishing to hang EBuyer out to dry - it's merely a reflection that malicious behaviour of any sort, no matter what the circumstances, should be punished appropriately.

    MSE...it's over to you...

    Just my two penn'orth

I'm not able to make those decisions although I have made Abcon aware of your concerns.

    Just had this from Ebuyer:

Thank you for contacting our Support Team.

I sincerely apologise for all of the aggravation that this has caused you.

I cannot send you the tv as this has been discontinued from our site and your account has been refunded for the amount.

I can also confirm that Mike Naylor is no longer the MD for Ebuyer and you will need to send this summons to Ebuyer.com if you intend to take this further.

    Regards
    Serena
    Ebuyer Customer Support Team.

Check this carefully -- if the 'summons' is Small Claims Court, it should be to a named individual, NOT Ebuyer.

If the claim is against a Company - then it is the Company. A few years back I helped a friend take Everest to the Small CLaims Court and won. Just checked with my County Court and they confirmed that is still the case. Quote " If you are claiming against Company that is still trading - then it is the Company you enter on the documentation"
