Pink - is there a definately meet date sorted ? I would like to come along - please....:o and is snowy coming over?

bargainrzl - are you coming to the PP mini meet? its a shame that PP is not in london at the same time as aussielass.

    Hi Shez,

Snowy and I are planning to travel together but we can't really book our flights until there's a definite date.

The last time I was talking to Aussie, she said that the Friday (9th) or the Saturday (10th) would suit her. She has to be back to her accomodation at 10pm so I was wondering about somewhere we could meet for a drink, possibly with the option of food if anyone wanted it, and just have a sort of open meet regarding time where anyone could drop in when it would suit them and stay for as long as they wanted. How does that sound to everyone else?

I'm wondering should we start a separate thread on this rather than have all the posts get lost on the daily thread. Would one of you (Bargain?) like to start it or do you want me to? It will be great to meet you all.

    I'll start a new thread, Pink :D

I figured a late-afternoon-till-into-the-evening type slot would work, for the reasons you've mentioned. This would also give folks like purpleprincess, who live a couple of hours away by train, the opportunity to get back before they turn into a pumpkin ;)

    Hi guys

Happy New Year to everyone

It feels like an absolute age since I have been on here. Computer packed in and had to go away for repair. Came back yesterday and hasn't been fixed properly so away again tomorrow

Hope everyone had a fab Crimbo. Although I have been back at work 2 days this week still feel like I am in holiday mode. Think it's probably because hubby isn't back to work until Monday.

Well just thought I would pop on and say hello. Off now to catch up on what I have missed ;)
  • Afternoon Guys!

Hospital went ok. Took back a pair of trousers and nightie to M&S. Receipts were included which was just as well, as they had both been reduced in the sale! Swapped for a pair of jeans and a lovely skirt.

FIL/MIL anniversary today, so OH took our pressies over. He ended up staying there for lunch which was a mixed grill with everything fried on the hob. Have had to wash all his clothes as he stank of lard-they are not the cleanest of people and wonder how long the fat had been in the pan…yuk! Don’t mean to be horrid, but how do people live like that? They both are extremely overweight and have heart problems:confused:

Got my essay back from tutor and got 78%...yay!...so happy, as I thought it was going to be much worse.

OH has just gone to get DD and hopefully her first day went ok. They have to pop into Argos on way home as the steam generator has broken again! Luckily we took the 3 year cover for £10 and it has been replaced already and only bought in June 2006. It definitely cuts the ironing down when working though…LOL:D

Just finished the shepards pie-have done 2 as it was a biggish pack of minced lamb and stretched out with a tin of baked beans. Will put the other in the freezer for next week. Am doing French beans, broccoli, sprouts and a few carrots as I will use whatever’s left tomorrow at lunch with leftover shepards pie.

Hugs to all. Am having an OK day today;)

    Hello everyone!

Hope your day is going well! It's getting dark here already-I wanted to photograph some jewellery I'm going to sell and some stuff for Ebay but the lighting in this flat is awful when it's the colour it is outside!! So will have to wait until about 10ish this evening!

This morning I went to Emmaus on the hunt for a dishwasher (had no luck on Freecycle) but the ones they had were so expensive for 2nd hand... the only one I liked was reserved.... argh! Guess I'll have to wait til next month when I have some savings though and get a nice one to match the rest of our appliances-I wanted to spend my DLA backpayment money on one but it went on bills instead! Eek!

Then I went to the supermarket and made sure we had enough fresh fruit etc... looked at the clothes to see if I could get a bargain for my friends hen night on the 20th but nothing really caught my eye for a decent price!

OH is sound asleep, he didn't get a wink of sleep last night and went to work on it... came back utterly shattered! I'm tired too, might copy him and our dog by having a nap! I'm the only one awake in this flat!! After my nap/chill out, it'll be time to get a few chores done...

I was hoping earlier that on my return my Lush stuff would've arrived so that I could have a nice relaxing bath and a cuppa this afternoon/evening, but it's not here... maybe tomorrow eh?

    Afternoon All

Moggins - I would def book the holiday if I were you, it will do all of you the world of good and at that price I wouldnt feel quilty at all.

Have done quite a lot today, am cooking a roast chicken for dinner, have a little (yes little!) pile of ironing to do and need to sort my kitchen drawer for my fl challenge then thats it for today. I think thats where Ive been going wrong before - I used to have an day cleaning and clearing then would be so tired for the next couple of days that everything would end up more messy than when I started!

Also scheduled for tonight is a lovely relaxing bath and have a read at the same time - bliss.

gosh you have all been busy today - Couldn't find the daily thread. It was tucked away on the second page.

Just been to ASDA - stuck perfectly to my list. Apart from the 2 packs of mince which were reduced to 92p each. They had loads - but had to restrict myself to 2 as we only have a diddy freezer and it's pretty full as it is. Note to self- DO AN INVENTORY, and then eat the stuff:o

Busy at work today - which was good. Meant the time flew by.

got home and Nanny Oggs cookbook had arrived (late christmas pressie).

So all in all a good day for me.

I hope everyone is well. Off to read the thread - and everything else you've been posting about

Today's challenge is to fine and sign up to an NHS dentist - I haven't been since 1998  :o

Please could you visit THIS THREAD and consider signing?

Thank you to all OSrs that do!

    T.S.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
