Lelc wrote:Got a letter from the bank today to say that there was insufficient funds to pay my payplan. I knew it was going to be tight but I thought I would just make it. To top it all they charged me £35 for letting me know. I got that really sick feeling again, the one I used to get before I was dealing with my finances. I'll need to look at the finances and see how I can sort this out.
Ah well - onward and upward.
Lelc, I agree with md123 and if you have had these charges in the past do you know you can go through a process to reclaim them all.
Have a look here and apologies if you already knew

Good morning everybody. :hello:
I didn't post on the daily yesterday because I went to see a friend who's having a hard time at the moment and her unhappiness rubbed off on me a bit so I wasn't really in the mood for posting....which is just as well considering how difficult it was to read the forums let alone post on them yesterday. Thankfully it seems to be running a little bit more smoothly this morning.
Dd is back to school today and about to start her AS mocks. The boys don’t go back until next week so she's feeling a bit hard done by, even though she broke up for Christmas before they did.
We're off to a shopping outlet today as Mr Pink is looking for a couple of new suits for work. I thought I might as well tag along to see if I can find anything that will disguise the post Christmas bulges. I know, I know, a bit of self control and exercise would be the cheaper option….maybe next week when the tin of roses is finally empty.
Crazychick, I hope your ds gets on ok at the hospital
Jackie O, That's great news about Tilly Grace
Kaz, I have no idea how I managed the 5k! It’s the one and only time I got anywhere near that. Just keep grabbing the credit cards and the e-mails. I think the game's more down to luck than anything else.
Have a good day everyone.

PP, I'd love to come too, but as Snowy are planning to come over on the 10th to see Aussielass I don't think it will be possible. I hope you all have a lovely lunch.

Help me someone please??
I've just had the brochure through from the holiday company that we used three years ago. We went to a caravan site in Fishguard and had a wonderful week. I've just discovered that if we went away for the May Bank holiday it would cost us £109 for the four of us for seven nights. I know I will have to find spending money but I can use some of my Tesco vouchers to pay for some trips.
I was just determined that this year I was going to make some serious inroads into our debt and if we go on holiday obviously this will be taking money that I could be using to pay off CC's.
Only if I tell DH we are saving to go on holiday he is happy to save, if I say we are not spending to pay off debts it seems to go in one ear and out the other and it's 3 long years since we last had a holiday.
What do I do? I'm going to have to make a decision soon as at those prices the holidays are going to be snapped up.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

PenPen, I missed the bit where you mentioned lunch in London. I've PM'd you
Moggins, if you want my honest opinion I think you should go for it. I know things are tight but seriously, a week away for four people for £109! Is there a way you can work out a deal with OH so that HE is responsible for paying for the holiday and saving up for everybody's spending money, out of his bit of the family budget, and YOU are responsible for saving towards debt repayment? I know you're both on his income but what I mean is, if it wasn't for the holiday you wouldn't be seeing those savings on OH's part anyway, so no more of the debt would be getting paid off and you'd be in the same position, right?...Operation Get in Shape

Moggins that sounds like a really good deal! I would go for it and book it up, something to look forward to would really help you both to focus and work together as a team. Hopefully you would also be able to save some extra towards paying off the debt. Fingers crossed for you!

Now, I'm not normally one to be sneaky or to condone itbut could you tell DH that the holiday is actually a bit more than it really is and throw the "extra" that he doesn't know about towards the debt?
I haven't posted on the daily thread for quite a while now, but have been reading the thread quite regularly, so I hope I'm not making out-of-turn commments, I don't mean to0 -
What a difference a couple of hours make. I've sorted out with the bank and payplan. Apparently I was £40 short of necessary but of course they then added on the charge of £35 - so got this refunded and agreed a lower payment with payplan this month with a review next month.
Have cleaned the sink, put out the rubbish, emptied the dishwasher from last night, cleaned out the sc, cleaned the hob, put a load of washing on and made the beds (doesn't it sound a lot when you write it down yet it only took about 45 mins).
DH still out with the dogs - obviously walking off the grumps hopefully. I thought I'd make him some flapjacks to help sweeten him up a bit.
Anyway need to go to the recycle centre and then do some shopping. Macaroni cheese for tonight I think. Then I need to inventorise (if that word exists) the freezer and cupboards and do the menu plan for next week - especially as I'm back to work on Monday.
Hope everyone's day goes well and hugs to those whose day isn't so good.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - DFW Nerd 323
