The listing looks fine to me. The postage options are clearly listed. They may be pricey but they are not concealed or hidden. Don’t bid if you don’t like the postage charges.
Also see immediately under the postage rates. It reads
“*Sellers are not responsible for delivery time. This information is provided by the carrier and excludes weekends and bank holidays. Note that delivery times may vary, particularly during peak periods.”
Christmas and New Year is a triple whammy: weekend, bank holiday and peak period.
Bananabus, the seller has done nothing wrong here. I suggest that you pay for the item and be a bit more careful on your bidding in future. Anyone advising you to refuse to pay and accept a non payer and negative feedback strike is advising you to cheat an honest seller.
Alias_Omega, what is your ebay id? I want to bar you from my auctions if that is your attitude.0 -
Avoriaz, the problem was that when OP went to checkout, an extra charge was added for insurance, which was not stated in the auction. Therefore the seller IS at fault. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Avoriaz - Op has not complained about the amount of postage charged in the item description, but has q'd the seller as when s/he checked out, there was an additional charge added which was not in the description. Perhaps you would care to share your ebay ID as I would like to bar you from my auctions - I can't abide buyers that take little time to read something and instead only read what they want to.0

I think its from the link you put in post 12, he has presumed that was your auction win....0 -
oops!
SORRY Bob0 -
I bet you he is not at fault but without actually buying something from him I can’t prove it. Many sellers have the OPTION to select insurance at check out. I have bought many such items and I just choose not to select this option. Bananabus should have paid for the item including one of the two clearly detailed postage options. He should have ignored or deleted any additional charges.frivolous_fay wrote:Avoriaz, the problem was that when OP went to checkout, an extra charge was added for insurance, which was not stated in the auction. Bananabus, try paying for the item and postage only and tell us what happens.
More or less ditto to you Julie. I did carefully read what Bananabus wrote and try and understand his point. As someone else posted, Bananabus’s posts are “as clear as ditchwater” and I suspect his understanding of ebay is similarly muddy.julieblake wrote:Avoriaz - Op has not complained about the amount of postage charged in the item description, but has q'd the seller as when s/he checked out, there was an additional charge added which was not in the description. I am not the only one who sees the seller as OK and Bananabus as in the wrong. I think he is just trying to justify getting out of the purchase.
The seller has a 99.6% feedback rating on 16,700 trades on ebay in under two years. One trade in 300 has generated negative feedback. That is a very good ebay track record.
I have 100% feedback on well over 200 trades on ebay so I think I know how to read and write listings properly and how to behave properly and ethically on ebay.:p

I have emailed the seller via ebay and advised him to read this thread.
If he posts it might make interesting reading.:D0 -
Yes avoriaz, you are correct that on check out some seller do have an optional insurance, but it can also be set that it includes insurance in final Price.
Whole point of thread is that he doesnt want to pay, because the seller is overcharging him. So like you said you havent bought from this seller, so you cant really comment on his check out page, yet you are doing so.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0
