Memories of Izal are drifting through the mind
Even worse is the news that it's still available.
Note the toilet seat lid has a bespoke V-for-vandal mod. No doubt for self support.
If boys were trained to sit down for their no.1s, such disfigurement would be unnecessary!
Pffft Izal was luxury:cool: and much softer than the standard Public Sector provided sandpaper, with each sheet printed Government Property, to deter would be thieves.
Which, in turn, was preferable to the 6" x 4" (precisely) torn up sheets of newspaper I remember was hanging on a single rusty butcher's type hook in my nan & grandad's outside WC in the 1950s. That left newsprint on your unsuspecting bottom, and woe betide you if you used more than 2 sheets, because he counted them;).

Reflections on the bold.
1) I live with a civil servant turned passive, travelling revolutionary, and he blames it all on that bog roll. -- Of course I believe him! Why wouldn't I?
