When I saw the price for this house in a popular location I knew there had to be a catch. Some cosmetic work to be done inside.

I used to live a couple of miles from Croft. I'd be surprised if it sold for as little as asking price.0 -

But, on balance, the thing that would worry me most about that house (effort and cost) would be removing those concrete paving stones in the garden and replacing them with something attractive.
There's nothing wrong with that garden, which a bit of hard work and creativity couldn't sort out quickly enough without spending a fortune.0 -

Though I guess there's always "Desperation - had to put up with the darn things for just that bit too long - regardless of what's underneath them - so they're coming up regardless"
Raised beds are on a concrete base, but to do that over wider area you'd need quite a lot of top soil.0 -

Indeed. No wonder she chooses to reside there when out of the public gaze.0 -
The agent is being idiotic or disingenuous, because no planning permission is usually required to convert an integral garage, but to be a proper, fully habitable space, it needs building regs, which will be difficult now without pulling it to bits.
I wonder if they are referring to the potential of extension to the side not just converting the garage but going two stories say.0 -

Assuming it's not deliberate, I can't understand why they didn't slap a couple of coats of kitchen & bathroom emulsion on the ceiling to cover it up before putting the property on the market.0 -
