We got on well with the neighbours: two very old ladies on one side and a young couple on the other. The old ladies said we were nice quiet neighbours (!) but the young couple had younger hearing....
Anyway, the day after the first hour of rehearsal, the lady next door told me it was "a bit loud," so I said I'd limit it to 30 minutes and...... (brainwave!) I'd put the band through headphones, so it would only be me she might hear. :A
She seemed happy about that.
After a few weeks we met, so I asked if everything was OK with the rehearsals now.
She paused, then said, "We've been talking about that. Half an hour in the day is fine, but....err....we don't really mind if you have the band back!"0 -
:rotfl:Now remembering when my parents landed up with a next door drumkit as I was growing up. I wasnt even aware of it - but it turned out that the second the next long academic vacation came up (ie there wouldnt have been students next door for a few weeks) my mother was straight down the EA putting the house on the market.
That was quickly followed by a walk round a road of detached houses being built nearby and a list made out of her order of preference as to which one she wanted. They're still living in that house now:rotfl:0 -
Give the neighbours an eyeful as you step out of the shower onto your balcony

and never mind just then. That sort of bathroom window glass doesnt function very well if one has the light on in the bathroom (as I could tell a neighbour of mine - because I have the feeling she hasn't realised...).
I've never seen a floorlength blind anywhere yet - but with those tiles on all available surrounding walls - I think that is what one will have to do there.0 -
When I saw the price for this house in a popular location I knew there had to be a catch. Some cosmetic work to be done inside.
