Well, they haven't got it yet, and if they already own, which seems likely, they have the extra SDLT to pay too.

But isn't that the nature of speculative purchasing; that you buy at a good price and hope to sell at a profit, meanwhile tying-up your capital and taking a risk that nothing untoward happens to the market? I see this person bought in the period before the Brexit vote.

Remember Alvin Hall's "Buy when others are fearful"? It was almost as popular in it's time as Alvin Stardust's My Coo Ca Choo:

TBH I think I'd be a bit worried buying in Halifax at the best of times!

Probably a gerbil, or some such rodentish thing.

Nothing too alarming anyway, and quite likely the panther's dinner.

Personal thoughts - "not safe enough for someone from my part of the country" (ie that stepped wall in the back garden - as we would tend not to use it - even for "ornamental" purposes). Yep - soft Southerner alert LOL.

Imagine it's a bit dear for the part of the country it's in???

I'd say that sitting at the bottom of a steep, north-east facing slope, almost any price is too high. After all,it won't see much sun from now till next March....

But geography is only an optional subject these days, so who knows?
